One Too Many

Saturday, June 16: at 1:07 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 34-year-old man originally from Boise, Idaho but currently with no permanent address on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was standing in the parking lot of a drug store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue when deputies approached him. The man was handcuffed and taken to a sobering center.


Marijuana and Alcohol

Saturday, June 16: at 6:34 p.m., a 35-year-old man from Tracy, Calif. was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. Deputies caught up with the man near the intersection of Redwood Road and Castro Valley Boulevard. The man was taken into custody.


No Fries With Arrest

Saturday, June 16: at 2:58 a.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old woman from CV on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The woman was found behind a fast food restaurant on the Boulevard near Redwood Road. The woman was taken into custody.


Cited for Shoplifting

Saturday, June 16: at 3:11 p.m., a 56-year-old woman Oakland was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise at a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Store security followed the woman outside after observing her leaving without paying. Deputies issued the woman a citation and a date to appear in court.


Petty Theft

Saturday, June 16: at 7:12 p.m., deputies arrested a 32-year-old an from San Francisco on suspicion of petty theft and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue when deputies stopped him. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.


Graffiti Artist Nabbed

Saturday, June 16: at 7:30 p.m., a 56-year-old woman from CV was arrested on suspicion of defacing property near an apartment on Samson Way near Santa Maria Avenue. Deputies were called to the scene after  an anonymous tip. The woman was given a citation and a date to appear in court.


Thief on Probation

Thursday, June 14: at 10:55 p.m., a 21-year-old man from Berkeley with a history of shoplifting is facing a list of felony charges stemming from his arrest at a grocery store on the Boulevard near Redwood Road. Store security detained the man after he left the store with merchandise without paying. Deputies arrested the man on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a controlled substance, and violating the terms of his probation. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Stumbling Along

Thursday, June 14: at 1:17 p.m., deputies arrested a 48-year-old man from San Leandro on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was stumbling along Santa Maria Ave. near Jamison Way when deputies stopped him. The man was taken to a sobering center.


Attack With Deadly Weapon

Thursday, June 14: at 4:20 a.m., a 27-year-old man from San Leandro was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and defacing private property on Lake Chabot Road near Eden Medical Center. Deputies were called to the scene after receiving calls about a suspicious man in the area. The victim was treated at the scene. The man was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Deadly Fight

Thursday, June 14: at 2:34 a.m., a 911 call about a street fight sent deputies to an apartment on Anita Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard. There they arrested a 39-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon. The man was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail. The victim was treated at the scene.


Sexual Attack on a Child

Thursday, June 14: at 1:11 a.m., deputies arrested a 52-year-old man originally from Maui, Hawaii but with no permanent address on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor. The man was stopped on Crow Canyon Road near Bellina Canyon Road when deputies approached him. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail. The victim was taken into protective services.


Three Arrested on Redwood Road

Tuesday, June 12: at 5:46 p.m., three people from Castro Valley were arrested on felony drug-related charges after deputies stopped them on Redwood Road near Grove Way. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs, illegal drug paraphernalia and lock-picking equipment. A 23-year-old woman and a 43-year-old woman were both arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of marijuana. All three were taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Defaced Private Property

Tuesday, June 12: at 2:04 a.m., deputies arrested a 33-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of defacing private property in excess of $400. The man was stopped on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street when deputies picked him up. The man was taken into custody.


Fighting in the Street

Monday, June 11: at 6:49 p.m., a 911 call about a fist fight in the street sent deputies to a home on Helton Court near Vannoy Avenue. There they arrested a 22-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of fighting in public. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.


Stolen Car

Monday, June 11: at 9:15 p.m., deputies arrested a 43-year-old man from Fremont on suspicion of felony auto theft, possession of stolen property, breaking and entering, and brandishing a knife while driving. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Norbridge Avenue when deputies pulled him over. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Illegal Pot

Tuesday, June 12: at 3:00 a.m., a 26-year-old man from San Leandro was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. Deputies stopped the man while he was traveling on Redwood Road near Grove Way. The man was taken into custody.


Stolen Merchandise

Monday, June 11: at 8:46 p.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of possession of stolen property. The man was stopped in the parking lot of a drug store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Avenue when deputies arrived. The man was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.
