Pair Busted for Pot

Sunday, July 1: at 8:01 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested two people from Castro Valley on drug-related charges at the intersection of Grove Way and Center Street. A 46-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were handcuffed on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The pair was taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Over the Limit

Monday, July 2: at 12:01 a.m., a 45-year-old man from Stockton on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and violating his parole. Deputies pulled the man over from Eastbound Interstate 580 at Redwood Road after observing him weaving on the freeway. The man was taken into custody.


One Too Many

Saturday, June 30: at 11:15 p.m., deputies arrested a 57-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The man was traveling on Grove Way near East Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies stopped him. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.


Child Endangerment

Friday, June 29: at 9:08 p.m., a 30-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence and child endangerment. Deputies pulled the woman over on Santa Maria Avenue near the Boulevard after observing her driving erratically in the area. The woman was taken into custody. The child was taken into protective care.


Drove Drunk

Thursday, June 28: at 10:07 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 37-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The man was driving on Marshall Street near David Street when deputies stopped him. The man was taken into custody.


Biker Had Wrong License

Thursday, June 28: at 11:20 p.m., a 26-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of driving a motorcycle without the proper class of license. The man was traveling on Interstate 580 near Strobridge Avenue when deputies pulled him over. The man was taken into custody.


Citizen’s Arrest

Tuesday, June 26: at 7:14 p.m., a 911 call about a fight outside a liquor store on Lake Chabot Road sent deputies to the scene. There they arrested a 52-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of felony battery. The man had been detained under a citizen’s arrest until deputies arrived. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Drug Possession

Wednesday, June 27: at 2:03 a.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of multiple drug possession charges. The woman was outside a business on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies detained her. During questioning, the woman was charged with possession of methamphetamines, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The woman was also in violation of her parole. She was taken to Santa Rita.


Paraphernalia

Sunday, June 24: at 2:06 a.m., a 37-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, which is a misdemeanor. Deputies found the drug kit while they were questioning the man on the Boulevard near Wilbeam Avenue. The man was taken into custody.


Marijuana

Sunday, June 24: at 1:16 a.m., deputies arrested a 40-year-old man from San Lorenzo on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The man was in front of a home on Tanglewood Drive near Grove Way when deputies stopped him for questioning. The man was taken into custody.


Public Intoxication

Sunday, June 24: at 6:34 p.m., a 65-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies spotted the man stumbling in front of a convenience store on Redwood Road near Grove Way. The man was taken to a sobering center.
