Citizen’s Arrest

Sunday, July 8: at 5:19 p.m., a 911 call about a man breaking and entering into a property sent sheriff’s deputies to a home on Redwood Road near Camino Avenue. There they found a 47-year-old man from Vallejo under citizen’s arrest on suspicion of breaking and entering and possession of stolen property. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him into custody.


Credit Card Fraud

Sunday, July 8: at 6:16 p.m., deputies arrested a 36-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of credit card fraud, petty theft, and violating his parole. The man was stopped in the Castro Village Shopping Center after a merchant reported the fraud to deputies.


Over the Limit

Sunday, July 8: at 2:00 a.m., a 53-year-old man from CV was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Deputies pulled the man over near the intersection of the Boulevard and Lake Chabot Road after spotting him driving erratically in the neighborhood. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 


Fill’er Up...

Saturday, July 7: at 3:00 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a couple on suspicion of possession of stolen property at a gas station on Grove Way near Center Street. The driver, a 48-year-old woman from Alameda and her passenger, a 40-year-old man from Berkeley were stopped at a pump when deputies approached them. The pair was taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Pot Bust

Friday, July 6: at 10:48 p.m., deputies arrested a couple on drug-related charges at the intersection of Justco Lane and East Castro Valley Boulevard. A 27-year-old woman from Hayward and a 22-year-old man from Castro Valley were pulled over for a traffic violation. Deputies charged the pair with possession of marijuana. The couple was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Public Intoxication

Friday, July 6: at 1:01 p.m., a 54-year-old man from San Lorenzo was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies caught the man stumbling along A Street near Ruby Street on the way into Castro Valley. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.


Disturbing the Peace

Friday, July 6: at 6:29 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and obnoxious noise sent deputies to a home on Redwood Road near Brecon Court. There they arrested a 50-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of disturbing the peace. The man was taken into custody.


Trouble on Sidewalk

Friday, July 6: at 12:23 a.m., deputies arrested a 29-year-old man from San Lorenzo on suspicion of possession of marijuana and narcotics. The man was stopped on the sidewalk in front of a home on Marshall Street near David Street when deputies arrived. The man was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.


She Fought the Law

Thursday, July 5: at 7:28 p.m., a 32-year-old woman wanted by authorities was arrested on multiple counts of battery and assault. Deputies were called to an apartment on Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street to serve a warrant and were greeted with rocks being thrown at their squad car. The woman was additionally charged with battery against a peace officer and endangering a child. The woman was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Family Fireworks

Wednesday, July 4: at 10:53 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive argument sent deputies to a home on Gary Drive near Grove Way in Castro Valley. There they found a 53-year-old man from Castro Valley under citizen’s arrest. The man was charged with battery and assault on a family member. He was taken into custody.


No Helmet

Wednesday, July 4: at 1:30 p.m., an 18-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested and cited for not wearing a helmet while operating a motorized bicycle. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Lake Chabot Road when deputies caught up with him.


Concealed Weapon

Wednesday, July 4: at 8:06 p.m., deputies arrested a 55-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon and lock-picking equipment. The man was stopped on Redwood Road near Grove Way when deputies approached him. The man was taken into custody.


On Drugs, Carrying Drugs

Tuesday, July 3: at 8:00 p.m., a 24-year-old man from Los Altos (Santa Clara County) was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence and in possession of methamphetamine drugs while driving. The man was stopped on Meadowlark Drive near Meadowlark Court when deputies questioned him. The man, who also had a warrant out for his arrest, was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
