Suspended License

Thursday, July 12: at 8:17 p.m., sheriff’s deputies pulled over and arrested a 41-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of driving with a suspended license. The man was traveling on Grove Way when deputies stopped him near Center Street. The man was taken into custody.

Stumbling Along

Thursday, July 12: at 6:44 p.m., a 65-year-old man from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies stopped the man for questioning after watching him stumble near the intersection of Redwood Road and Grove Way. Deputies reported the man failed his Breathalyzer test. The man was taken to a sobering center.

Can’t Skate Away

Thursday, July 12: at 8:13 p.m., deputies arrested a 23-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order. The man was standing near a skateboard park on San Miguel Avenue when deputies stopped the man for questioning and found he had a warrant out for his arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

From Hospital to Jail

Tuesday, July 10: at 10:01 p.m., a 61-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and violating the terms of her parole. Deputies caught up with the woman at Eden Medical Center on Lake Chabot Road after receiving a call from the nurse’s station. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

Two Busted for Pot

Wednesday, July 11: at 12:47 p.m., deputies arrested two local men on drug-related offenses at Carlos Bee Park on Grove Way near Tanglewood Drive. A 40-year-old man from Hayward and a 35-year-old man from San Leandro were stopped on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The men were handcuffed and taken into custody.

Assault with Deadly Weapon

Monday, July 9: at 12:24 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive argument sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. There they arrested a 48-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail. The victim was treated at the scene.

Joy Ride Ends in Jail

Monday, July 9: at 9:30 p.m., deputies arrested a 30-year-old man from San Leandro on suspicion of illegally driving a vehicle without the consent of the owner. The man also had a court-ordered warrant for his arrest issued. Deputies stopped the vehicle on Castro Valley Boulevard near Maria Court after receiving a report of a stolen car. The man had a suspended driver’s license during the joy ride. He was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.

One Too Many

Tuesday, July 10: at 12:23: a.m. a 44-year-old woman with no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies stopped the woman for questioning in front of Redwood Road near Grove Way. The woman failed her Breathalyzer test and was taken into custody.
