CLARK, Harry Scott III, of San Leandro, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, at age 41. Funeral services were held July 17.

DOYLE, Kevin Richard, of San Leandro passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at age 55. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 at Grissom’s Chapel and Mortuary, 267 E Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. All are invited to attend.

ESCHENBACH, Joyce Annette, who formerly lived in San Leandro, passed away in Oakland on Monday, July 9, 2012, at age 73. Mrs. Eschenbach retired in 2001 after a 35-year career with Caltrans District 4. She was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Alameda. A memorial service was held on July 17 at Neighborhood Church in Castro Valley.

GONZALES, Dorothy Jean, of San Lorenzo, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012, after a long battle with dementia. She was 84. Mrs. Gonzales had a long career in bookkeeping until she retired.

KANZAKI, Kikue, a resident of San Leandro entered her heavenly home on June 11, 2012. She was 105 years. old. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 11 a.m. at San Lorenzo Japanese Christian Church located at 615 Lewelling Blvd. in San Leandro.

McLACHLAN, Marguerite Louise (Bettencourt), November 29, 1923 – June 21, 2012, born and raised in San Leandro, and graduate of San Leandro High School, is preceeded in death by her parents, Ruby and Earl Bettencourt of San Leandro. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Jim McLachlan; her brother, Earl Bettencourt (Barbara); her sister, Betty Brown (Gerald); and her nieces and nephews, David (Pam), Nancy (Ed), Janet (Gary), Mark (Iris), Cheryl (Paul), Caryn (Corey) and Rick. She was devoted to her daughters, Laurie McLachlan Fry and Linda Smith. She adored her grandchildren, Jill Fry, Aaron Smith (Anna), Iain Fry (Amy), Megan Wood (Tom), Maryanne Liechty (Lorne) and Evan Smith. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Hannah Liechty, Olivia Fry, Mary Kate Liechty, Abby Fry, Eleanor Wood and Lorne T Liechty. During her lifetime, Marge lived in San Leandro and Oakland as well as other states; overseas in Indonesia and Bangladesh, and finally retired in Monterey, Calif. She was an avid volunteer, and supporter of children and civic organizations. She was devoted to the many churches she was a member. She loved bridge, tennis and knitting. She loved keeping busy, shopping and enjoying her many friends all over the world. She and Jim traveled the world, including South America, Europe, India and Asia. She lived a full and faithful life and touched many lives with her generous heart and warm smile. A memorial service will be held at the San Leandro First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 21, at 1 p.m. Donations to the Alameda Special Olympics can be sent c/o Laurie McLachlan at 50 Moss Pointe, Alameda, Calif. 94502.

NJIKE, Francois, born in Africa on May 5, 1958 and a current resident of San Leandro entered into rest July 11, 2012 in Oakland. Visitation will be Friday July 20, at Santos-Robinson Mortuary starting at noon to 8:30 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday, July 21 at First United Methodist Church at 1600 Bancroft Avenue in San Leandro, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward. SEARS, Bill, of San Leandro, passed away at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward on July 4, 2012, at age 75. A native of Oakland, Mr. Sears worked as a grounds gardener at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland for 35 years. SEREDA, Robert Emanuel, age 83, died at home in Oakland on Sunday, June 15, 2012. Born January 25, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, Robert lived in San Leandro before settling in Oakland. He co-owned Lagorio-Sereda Wholesale Produce for 40 years. He was a licensed real estate agent for 30 years and owned RESCO Development Co. He retired in 2002. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Beverly Sereda; their six children, Kathy (John Glaub), Bob II (Laura), Chris, Carl, Claire and David; and his 4 grandchildren, Kristen (Ben Potter), Karl, Lisa and Michelle. Visitation and vigil were held on July 18 at Guerrero/San Leandro Funeral Home in San Leandro, 510-483-5300.
