Over the Limit
Friday, August 31: at 1:16 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled substance and child endangerment. The man was traveling along Grove Way near Center Street when deputies observed him driving erratically and stopped his car in the parking lot of a fast-food eatery. The man was taken into custody. Transient Trespassing Thursday, August 30: at 8:31 p.m., a 21-year-old man with no formal address was arrested on suspicion of trespassing on private property. Deputies apprehended the man outside a business on Village Drive near Castro Village Bowl. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. Robber with a Zip Gun Thursday, August 30: at 2:01 p.m., a 911 call about a robbery in progress sent deputies to a store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Patio Drive. There they arrested a 23-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of robbery and carrying a makeshift firearm, sometimes called a zip gun. The man was stopped by a passerby and placed under citizen’s arrest before being taken to Santa Rita Jail. Meth for Sale Stopped Wednesday, August 29: at 3:20 p.m., deputies arrested a 27-year-old woman with no permanent address on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs with intent to sell. The woman was traveling on the 2100-block of Eden Canyon Road when deputies stopped her for questioning and discovered her stash. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail. Pot Possession Wednesday, August 29: at 11:34 p.m., a 30-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. Deputies stopped the man on Stanton Avenue near San Carlos Avenue on a traffic infringement when they discovered the drugs. The man was taken into custody. Suspended License Wednesday, August 29: at 2:40 a.m., deputies arrested a 40-year-old man from CV on suspicion of driving with a suspended license. The man was given a citation and a notice to appear in court. |
