Mugged at Gunpoint After Work
A man was mugged at gunpoint on the 14600 block of East 14th Street as he walked home from work early Monday morning, around 1:30 a.m.
The man was walking and became suspicious of a man coming from the opposite direction who was walking straight toward him, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the San Leandro police.
The suspect began to engage the victim in conversation, but then produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet. The victim complied and the suspect ran off.
The suspect is described as a black male around 25 to 30 years old with a large build who was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.
Woman Interrupts Home Burglary
A woman interrupted a burglary just after 1 p.m. on Monday when she came downstairs and discovered a teenage boy standing in her home.
The woman was home on the 100 block of Victoria Avenue when she heard a noise and found a boy around 14 or 15 years old about to burglarize her home, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the San Leandro police.
The woman asked the teen what he was doing in her house and he ran off without stealing anything.
Arrest for Gun & Pot
A man was arrested for possession of a stolen handgun last Wednesday around 10:30 p.m., following traffic stop on the 1500 block of Grand Avenue.
The officers had probable cause to search the car and found marijuana, money, and a loaded handgun. The driver, a 36-year-old San Leandro resident, was arrested at the scene.
