KOHN, Louis, M.D., born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Wiesner) Kohn. He is predeceased by his wife, Ethel (Hornburg) Kohn, and his brothers, Eugene and Joseph Kohn. He graduated from Marquette University and received his M.D. from Marquette University Medical School. He served in the United States Army during World War II, after which he practiced medicine in Waterford, Wisconsin, and completed a surgical residency in Chicago. He and his wife, a registered nurse, then operated a medical practice in East Troy, Wisconsin for 20 years. They raised their daughters there and then moved to San Leandro, where they practiced medicine for another 10 years, made many friends, and enjoyed the West Coast. Louis moved to West Hartford, Connecticut in 1996, after the death of his wife. He will be best remembered for his sense of humor; intellectual curiosity; appreciation of music, dancing, travel and great meals; and his talent for foreign languages, and stubborn attention to detail. He loved to laugh and make others laugh, and he loved to cry — especially to gypsy fiddle music. Louis leaves his daughter, Ardith Crampton, and son-in-law, Michael, of West Hartford, Connecticut; his daughter, Janice Kohn of West Hurley, New York; grandchildren, Matthew Crampton, Emily Crampton LaPier and her husband Brendon, Leah Rossett, Ellie Rossett Fredericks and her husband Nick, and Alex Rossett; cousins, Lillie Riskin, Donald Wiesner and his wife, Lola; and nephew, Jerome Kohn and his wife, Valorie.
