A 20-year-old San Lorenzo man was arrested for the fatal shooting of another 20-year-old man that took place last week in Cherryland.
Stacy Fixico allegedly shot Tony Jones dead at Jones’ home on the 400 block of Bartlett Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Labor Day, according to Sgt. J.D. Nelson of the Alameda County Sheriff’s office.
Police say Fixico and another man were shooting a .22 caliber gun into the air on the campus of Royal Sunset High shortly before Jones was killed.
The pair then allegedly met with Jones at his apartment a few yards away from the school and were smoking marijuana together on Jones’ balcony when Fixico shot Jones, according to Nelson.
Deputies also believe the gun Fixico used was stolen from the home of an elderly World War II veteran in San Lorenzo.
Fixico is being held without bail at Santa Rita jail on charges including homicide, burglary, and possessing a firearm at a school.
