Not First Time Stealing

Saturday, September 22: at 7:53 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 47-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of petty theft and possession of lock-picking equipment. Deputies stopped the woman outside a home on Merrill Place near Heyer Avenue. There they also found that this was not her first time being arrested for petty theft and that she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending a $31,000 bail.

Over the Limit

Friday, September 21: at 11:37 p.m., a 44-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies caught up with the man near the intersection of Castro Valley Boulevard and San Miguel Avenue before questioning him. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.


Assault and Vandalism

Friday, September 21: at 4:43 p.m., a 911 call about a fight outside a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Norbridge Avenue sent deputies to the scene. There they arrested a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism charges. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail. The victim was treated at the scene.


Driving High

Friday, September 21: at 9:41 p.m., a 49-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. Deputies stopped the woman on San Carlos Avenue near Park Way after observing her swerving in the neighborhood. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail.


One Too Many

Friday, September 21: at 10:02 p.m., deputies arrested a 28-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was traveling along Center Street near Kelly Street when deputies stopped him after observing him stumbling along the sidewalk. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $5,000 bail.


Public Vandalism

Friday, September 21: at 1:35 a.m., a 29-year-old man from San Leandro was arrested on suspicion of public vandalism outside a business on San Carlos Avenue near Park Way. Deputies were called to the scene after reports of loud crashing and banging. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.


Suspended License

Thursday, September 20: at 8:07 p.m., deputies arrested a 40-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of three counts of driving with a suspended license. The man was sitting in his car in a parking lot of a drug store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street when deputies approached him. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $27,000 bail.

 

Out of Town Visit Ends in Arrest

Thursday, September 20: at 8:20 p.m., a 59-year-old woman from Stockton, Calif. was arrested on suspicion of violating her parole. Her friend, a 39-year-old woman from Castro Valley was also arrested on suspicion of child endangerment. The women were at a home on San Miguel Avenue near Lux Street when deputies arrived. The women were taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Stolen Property

Wednesday, September 19: at 7:43 a.m., deputies arrested a 29-year-old man from San Leandro on suspicion of possession of stolen property and violating the terms of his parole. The man was at a home on Apricot Way near Seaview Avenue when deputies arrived following an anonymous tip. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Fought the Law

Tuesday, September 18: at 11:12 a.m., a 65-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest. The man was standing outside a business on Grove Way near Redwood Road when deputies approached him. During questioning, the man refused to abide by the deputy’s request and tried to flee. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Tuesday, September 18: at 3:25 p.m., deputies arrested a 23-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of violating a court issued restraining order against him. Neighbors on Apricot Way in Castro Valley complained of a suspicious-looking person in the area. Deputies handcuffed the man fitting the description and took him into custody.
