A man is in life-threatening condition after being shot multiple times near this market on the corner of Kent Avenue and Delano Street.

A 21-year-old man remains in critical condition at Eden Hospital in Castro Valley after he was shot multiple times after exiting a store in the unincorporated Ashland area Sunday afternoon.

Deputies responded to numerous 911 calls of shots fired around 3:15 p.m. on the corner of Delano Street and Kent Avenue in Ashland, according to Sgt. J.D. Nelson of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department.

When officers arrived, they found the man, whose identity is not being released, laying on the street outside a market with several gunshot wounds.

“There are no suspects or known motives at this time,” said Nelson.

This is the third shooting in the unincorporated area so far in September. The other two victims both died of their injuries.
