“Deathtrap” the five-character, two-act thriller that holds the record for the longest running comedy-thriller on Broadway, opens Friday, Oct. 19 at Chanticleer’s Theatre, 3683 Quail Ave. in Castro Valley. Described as a play-within-a-play, the plot revolves around playwright Sidney Bruhl who’s trying to write the perfect murder mystery. U.S. Air Force Band featuring the “Singing Sergeants,” will perform patriotic selections and operatic melodies in a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the Chabot College Buffington Visual and Performing Arts Center, 25555 Hesperian Blvd. in Hayward, as part of a 14-day Fall Tour of California and Arizona.
