The San Francisco Giants completed a World Series sweep against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday night at Co-America Park in Detroit, with a 4-3 win in 10 innings.

The Giants pitching and defense dominated over the Tigers offense throughout the series, winning 8-3, 2-0, and 2-0.

Sunday night’s game was the one that the Tigers battled in until the very end, finishing the ninth inning in a 3-3 tie.

As the Giants went into extra innings, designated hitter Ryan Theriot singled to right field. Brandon Crawford laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Theriot to second.

Marco Scutaro singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning. The Giants closer, Sergio Romo, went in to pitch in the bottom of the tenth inning and shut the door on the Tigers batters, striking out all three batters he faced, including Miguel Cabrera, the American League’s Triple Crown winner.
