Man Shoots Gun in the Air
A man with a gun was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on Oct. 25 after police responded to 911 calls reporting shots fired on the 14500 block of East 14th Street.
When they arrived they found the suspect angry and intoxicated, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the San Leandro police.
A witness told police that he saw the man shoot the gun into the air. The police got the gun form him and didn’t find anyone injured or any property damage at the scene.
The man was arrested on a fire arms charge and is being held on $85,000 bail at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
Victim Sets Up Sting
A man helped solve his own burglary with the help of Craigslist last week.
A man had all four tires stolen off his car near the intersection of Ottawa Avenue and Corvallis Street earlier in October.
The victim started monitoring Craigslist and on Oct. 25 spotted the tires for sale, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the SLPD.
The victim contacted the seller about buying the tires and arranged to meet. he then called police and had an officer confront the suspected thief.
The suspect arrived at the arranged location and was arrested for possession of stolen goods.
Police returned the tires to the victim and also found stolen property belonging to a separate victim, which was also returned.
