The 2012 Trivia Bee was a success and raised funds for the Library’s Project Literacy.

Cinda Mariscal, Project Literacy Coordinator, is pleased to report this year’s Trivia Bee winners: 1st place: Project Literacy Tutors & Learners; 2nd place: Friends of the Library Gift Shop; 3rd place: The Mayor and City Council.

The 2012 Trivia Bee teams were: The Mayor and City Council, Chapman King Team, Pontificators, Singer & Horn Section, Friends of the Library #1, Arts Council of San Leandro, 24 Desperate Lost Heroes, State Roofing System, Inc., Alameda County Firefighters Local 55, Friends of the Library Gift Shop, Project Literacy Tutors & Learners, San Leandro Education Foundation, San Leandro Players, San Leandro Commissioners, Friends of the Library #2, Morgan for City Council, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, San Leandro Rotary, San Leandro Police Officers Association, Black Katz, Friends’ Booktique, San Leandro Times, San Leandro Garden Club, Dewey Decimators

“The Trivia Bee is an important tradition and an important cause that San Leandro has always proudly embraced,” said Ms. Mariscal. “The whole community, including the Mayor, the City Council, local businesses and organizations, library staff and volunteers, all come together to make this event possible.”

She is looking forward to next year’s 20th Annual Trivia Bee, so be sure to mark your calendars now for Friday, October 18, 2013!
