Thursday, November 8: Kiwanis Pasta Dinner

The Hayward-Castro Valley Kiwanis Club will host a pasta dinner, with salad, dessert and beverage, at the Aitken Senior Center, 17800 Redwood Road, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 8. Friday, November 9: CHP Family Fundraiser

The Contra Costa County Peace Officers Alliance is holding a fundraiser from 6:30 to midnight this Friday for the family of CHP Officer Kenyon Youngstrom who died in the line of duty, leaving a wife and four children. Saturday, November 10: Streetscape Celebration

Alameda County and the CVSan invite you to “Meet in the Street” from 3 to 6 p.m. this Saturday for a celebration to mark the completion of the Downtown Streetscape project. See story on page 1 for more details.

I.D.E.S. St. John’s Holiday Turkey Luncheon Bingo will be held beginning at noon this Saturday at 1670 Orchard Ave. in San Leandro. The $10 admission includes 5 bingo cards, door prizes and a turkey dinner.

The Castro Valley Women’s Club will hold its monthly Brunch & Bridge Fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday at its Club House, 18330 Redwood Road. The Hayward Area Historical Society invites kids to dig in the dirt and look for creepy crawlies at a special event this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the McConaghy House, 18701 Hesperian Blvd., Hayward. Join us as we reflect on the contributions of our veterans.
