A customer at the McDonald’s downtown at 1287 Washington Avenue was robbed by two armed men Saturday evening. The suspects were later caught and arrsted.

The men entered the rest room just before 7 p.m. and threatened a man who was in there, saying they were going to shoot him and waving a gun around, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the San Leandro police.

The suspects took the man’s wallet and fled the scene on foot. The cops arrived and got a description of the suspect from the victim.

A few minutes later, a pair matching the description were spotted on the 1800 block of East 14th Street.

The cops found the men had the victim’s wallet and the weapon – which turned out to be a pellet gun that looked real.
