Fixed mortgage rates were mixed following the monthly employment report last week, but they continue to hover near their record lows, according to Freddie Mac’s nationwide survey.
Last week’s 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.40 percent, up from 3.39 percent the week before. The 15-year mortgage edged down, from 2.70 percent to 2.69 percent.
Five-year adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs) averaged 2.73 percent last week, down from 2.74 percent, and one-year ARMs averaged 2.59 percent, up from 2.58 percent.
