The Miser at San Leandro High

San Leandro High School, 2200 Bancroft Ave., presents “The Miser” by Moliere, Nov. 16 through Nov. 18, on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Students $9, Adults $12, Seniors $10. Tickets are available at the box office one half hour before the show.

Author Fred Setterberg at the Library

Local author Fred Setterberg will talk about his true-life novel, Lunch Bucket Paradise, at the San Leandro Main Library, 300 Estudillo Ave. on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 3 p.m. The novel chronicles Setterberg’s childhood in the postwar Jefferson Manor, a blue-collar neighborhood in San Leandro. Setterberg poignantly explores class, masculinity, and modern life amidst the intoxicating abundance of a new California lifestyle that developed during the ’50s and ’60s. Admission is free.

All Saints Holiday Food Pantry

The Neighborhood Center at All Saints Episcopal Church, 911 Dowling Blvd., will have   a Holiday Food Pantry on Saturday, Nov. 17. Food distribution will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Guests must be residents of Alameda County. Please bring your own bags. If you can give food, donations of whole chickens are needed. Please bring your chickens (fresh or frozen) to the church between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. All Saints wants to have a chicken for every pot.

Dusty Paws Pet Adoption

Dusty Paws Rescue will hold an adoption on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pet Food Express, 3385 Castro Valley Blvd. in Castro Valley, outside the store. Dogs and cats will be present for viewing and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions. If the weather is bad, the adoption will be inside the store.

Rhythm Tap Hall of Fame Fundraiser

Rhythm Tap Hall of Fame is having a fundraising mixer on Friday, Nov. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Bayfair Building, 14895 East 14th St. in San Leandro. Badarikashrama Vegetarian Thanksgiving

St. Leander’s Sports Collectors Show

The Meridians of St. Leander’s Church are sponsoring their 28th Annual Sports Collectors Show on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ryan O’Connell Hall, 575 W. Estudillo Ave. Sports memorabilia from 1880 to 2012 will be for sale. Proceeds benefit St. Leander parish and local charities. Admission is $4, or $2 for those under 5 or over 65. Monroe Dads Club Pancake Breakfast

Songs for the Holidays

Usher in the holidays with Cantare’s! A Broadway Holiday. This concert series fuses hits from the best shows on Broadway with the most beloved songs of the Holiday Season. Performances run Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 and Dec. 7 to Dec. 9 at the California Conservatory Theatre, 999 East 14th St. in San Leandro. Corvallis Annual Holiday Boutique

Corvallis School is having its Annual Holiday Boutique on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lots of homemade crafts and goodies at reasonable prices. Help the needy families in our community by bringing in a toy, canned food item, or clean, used coat. Door prizes every half hour. New vendors are welcome. Bob Grazzini Memorial Crab Feed

The Buon Tempo Club will host the Bob Grazzini Memorial Crab Feed at the Castro Valley Moose Hall, 20385 Rutledge Road in Castro Valley, on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
