St. Leander Sports Collectors Show
The Meridians of St. Leander Church are sponsoring their 28th Annual Sports Collectors Show on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ryan O’Connell Hall, 575 W. Estudillo Ave. Sports memorabilia from 1880 to 2012 will be for sale. Proceeds benefit St. Leander parish and local charities. Admission is $4, or $2 for those under 5 or over 65. Eden Garden Club
The Eden Garden Club will hold its November meeting on Monday, November 26 from 9:45 a.m. to noon at the Moose Lodge, 20835 Rutledge Road, Castro Valley. The presentation this month will be by Bill Welch of the Monterey Peninsula, better known as “Bill the Bulb Baron.” He is the world’s leading authority on Tazetta Narcissus (a.k.a. Daffodils). His presentation will include the planting and care of the flower and he will also have many unique varieties available for purchase. The meeting is open to the public and visitors are welcome.
Songs for the Holidays
Usher in the holidays with Cantare’s! A Broadway Holiday. This concert series fuses hits from the best shows on Broadway with the most beloved songs of the Holiday Season. Performances run Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 and Dec. 7 to Dec. 9 at the California Conservatory Theatre, 999 East 14th St. in San Leandro. Tickets are $25 general admission and $22 for students/seniors and can be purchased on the website www.curtaincallperformingarts.org or by calling the box office at 909-9516.
The San Leandro Library Reader’s Roundtable book club will meet at the Main Library on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. to discuss The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Populated by three dimensional characters, this is a superb tale of physical adventure, political suspense, and romance – not just for young adults, but for anyone who likes to read.

Corvallis Annual Holiday Boutique
Corvallis School is having its Annual Holiday Boutique on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lots of homemade crafts and goodies at reasonable prices. Help the needy families in our community by bringing in a toy, canned food item, or clean, used coat. Door prizes will be given out every half hour throughout the event. New vendors are welcome. The Buon Tempo Club will host the Bob Grazzini Memorial Crab Feed at the Castro Valley Moose Hall, 20385 Rutledge Road in Castro Valley, on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Carlton Plaza Holiday Craft Boutique
Carlton Plaza senior living of San Leandro will host a holiday craft boutique on Thursday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature local vendors selling crafts, jewelry, and treats.
