All Saints Holiday Concert and Dance

Third Annual Holiday Concert and Community Dance will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Neighborhood Center at All Saints Episcopal Church, 911 Dowling Blvd. in San Leandro, with music by Celtic/Medieval duo Margaret and Kristoph, and dancing (for those who wish) led by dance leader/choreographer Maureen Atkins. Come for a joyous blend of Medieval, Renaissance, and familiar carols on harp, guitar, flutes, and vocals, a great holiday activity. Hawaiian Holiday Celebration

Join renowned slack key guitarist Patrick Landeza to start off the Holidays with the 11th Annual Hawaiian Holiday Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the San Leandro Main Library, 300 Estudillo Ave. Advanced tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Information Desk of the San Leandro Main Library, starting at noon on Thursday, Nov. 1. Tickets will be sold at the door for $17. Free admission for children 5 and under.

American Legion Toys for Tots

American Legion Post 117 is having its 3rd annual Toys for Tots Fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the San Leandro Veterans Memorial Bldg., 1105 Bancroft Ave. in San Leandro. Admission is $10 and an unwrapped toy (no stuffed animals or toy weapons, please), $15 without a toy. Serving meatloaf, baked potato, tossed salad, coffee and desert. Other beverages may also be purchased. All are welcome.

Readers’ Roundtable

The San Leandro Library Reader’s Roundtable book club will meet at the Main Library on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. to discuss The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Populated by three dimensional characters, this is a superb tale of physical adventure, political suspense, and romance – not just for young adults, but for anyone who likes to read.

Monroe Dads Club Pancake Breakfast

The Dad’s Club at James Monroe Elementary School, 3750 Monterey Blvd. in San Leandro, is having a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 8 to 11 a.m. Tickets are $6 and there will be a raffle. Songs for the Holidays

Usher in the holidays with Cantare’s! A Broadway Holiday. This concert series fuses hits from the best shows on Broadway with the most beloved songs of the Holiday Season. Performances run Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 and Dec. 7 to Dec. 9 at the California Conservatory Theatre, 999 East 14th St. in San Leandro. Corvallis Annual Holiday Boutique

Corvallis School is having its Annual Holiday Boutique on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with lots of homemade crafts and goodies at reasonable prices. Help the needy families in our community by bringing in a toy, canned food item, or clean, used coat. Door prizes every half hour. New vendors are welcome. Chanukah Faire and Boutique

Come and join Congregation Shir Ami, 4529 Malabar Road in Castro Valley (off Redwood Road) for a Chanukah faire and boutique on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be many talented local artists selling crafts, artwork, and gifts, a silent auction and a raffle. The cost of $5 per child includes face painting and crafts and the event is free for adults. There will be Chanukah food and lots of latkes. Everyone is welcome.

Diabetes Support Group

The Diabetes Support Group of San Leandro meets on Monday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. (an hour earlier than usual) at the San Leandro Surgery Center, 15035 East 14 St. in San Leandro. Dr. Mark Levine, consulting psychiatrist, will lead a special 2-hour session on “Coping with Chronic Disease.” Admission is free and the public is welcome.

Carlton Plaza Holiday Craft Boutique

Carlton Plaza senior living of San Leandro, 1000 East 14th St., will host a holiday craft boutique on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring local vendors selling crafts, jewelry, and treats. There will also be refreshments, including a hot cocoa bar.

Lucille Kline Memorial Holiday Tea

Senior Holiday Dance & Luncheon

Feast on delicacies and dance to the sounds of the Treble Makers on Friday, Dec. 14, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Senior Community Center, 13909 East 14th Street. A limited number of reservations are available. Reservations are $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents. Bayfair Toastmasters

The Bayfair Toastmasters are looking for new members. Gain confidence through Toastmasters, learn how to improve your public speaking, how to think on your feet, give better presentations at work, and more. 4th Sunday Breakfast at Veterans Building

American Legion Post 117 will be offering breakfast from 8 a.m. until noon every 4th Sunday of the month  at the San Leandro Veterans Memorial Bldg., 1105 Bancroft Ave. in San Leandro. The menu will be eggs-to-order, bacon/sausage, hash browns, toast and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for senior and veterans, and $4 for children under 12. Everyone is welcome.
