Shoved and Robbed

A woman was assaulted and mugged on the 14400 block of Washington Avenue last Friday at around 8 p.m.

She was walking to her car when a man shoved her from behind and caused her to hit her car, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the San Leandro police.

The suspect grabbed the woman’s purse and she tried to hold onto it, but he got it away from her after a tussle and ran off.

Landlord Threatened

A man threatened his landlord with a knife on the 400 block of Central Court last Wednesday at around 10 a.m.

The landlord heard a noise outside his window and saw the suspect standing in his yard with a knife and called the police, who arrested the tenant, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the San Leandro police.

Grocery Robbers

A man and a woman robbed a grocery store in the Greenhouse Marketplace shopping center at 699 Lewelling Boulevard last Wednesday around 7:30 p.m.

The pair loaded a cart with groceries and tried to push it out into the parking lot without paying, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the San leandro police. An employee tried to stop them, and the man shoved the employee to the ground.

They abandoned the cart and got away in a light-colored, newer model sedan.

Man Gets Himself Arrested

A man flagged down a patrolling officer on the 14800 block of east 14th Street and wound up getting himself arrested last Wednesday at around 11 a.m.

The man was standing in the middle of the street and hailed a cop car.

When the officer approached the man, he didn’t have a reason for contacting the officer, but the cop noticed that he was intoxicated and arrested him for being drunk in public, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the SLPD.
