The Assumption Church Confirmation class recently hosted a “Morning with Santa” benefit at the church to collect gift cards to give to the sick children at George Mark Children’s House. The kids at Assumption School and Church have been busy this holiday season, hosting events that benefited the George Mark Children’s House in the San Leandro hills. George Mark is a pediatric palliative care center that serves families with children who have a serious medical illness.
On Wednesday, Dec. 12, Assumption School’s second grade class hosted the school’s monthly “Mission Munchies” bake sale, raising $250 for George Mark
Then, on Sunday, Dec. 17, Assumption Church’s Confirmation class responded to George Mark’s call for gift cards for its families.
The Confirmation class planned and hosted a Morning with Santa where the “admission fee” was a gift card to be donated to George Mark Children’s House. They collected $600 in donations.
The Assumption Church Confirmation class includes tenth graders from all over San Leandro – Drew Retallick, Reina Tengan, Andrew Levy, Christian Castro, Zayna Yamini, Jordan Ortiz-Pallen, Emily Caviglia, Hannah Wulff, Toni Gadar, and Juliana Wells.
