Auditions for San Leandro’s Got Talent, a new city-wide talent show and fundraiser for teen programs will take place on the evenings of Jan. 14 and 15 at the Main Library.
Teens ages 13 to 18 who can sing, dance, juggle, play an instrument, rap, do spoken word, are invited to audition. Performers selected for the final show have a chance to perform for local celebrity judges, win great prizes, and have a video on YouTube.
Audition applications are now available at the Main Library, the Recreation and Human Services Department offices at the San Leandro City Hall, and online at www.sanleandro.org. Audition applications must be returned by Jan. 8.
The winners will advance to the show on Feb. 8.
San Leandro’s Got Talent is a collaboration of the San Leandro Public Library’s Teen Advisory Group (TAG) and the Youth Advisory Commission (YAC). TAG and YAC are joining together to offer a fun new event for the community while raising money for teen programs.
Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships will be used for teen programs at the library as well as YAC’s mini-grant program for youth-serving organizations.
San Leandro’s Got Talent will take place in the Lecture Hall at the San Leandro Main Library on Feb. 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the Main Library, 300 Estudillo Avenue, and the Recreation and Human Services Department South Offices (835 East 14th Street) beginning Jan. 8. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for youth.
