The San Leandro High basketball team out-scored Berkeley in all of the first three quarters on Friday night, but the Yellowjackets took off in the fourth period and won in their home gym, 51-48.

San Leandro led, 35-29, at the end of the third quarter but that’s when Berkeley started to pick up steam. Yellowjacket center Henry Cornelious led the WACC game in scoring with 21 points.

Josh Thompson led the Pirates with 13 points, including three 3-point shots.

Dejon Budreaux scored 12 points for San Leandro, Kennon Noble had 8 points, Osi Nwachuke had 7 points, and Stephen Johnson had 6 points.

San Leandro 61, Franklin 43

The Pirates got back in the win column in a non-league game on Saturday night with a 61-43 win over Franklin at home.

San Leandro improved its record to 10-3 overall, and 0-1 in the West Alameda Country Conference.
