A man was carjacked at gunpoint on the 400 block of Bristol Boulevard last Saturday evening. A suspect was later arrested.
Shortly after 7 p.m., the victim was sitting in his car when the suspect approached and ordered him out of his car using what the victim believes was a compact machine gun, according to Lt. Jeff Tudor of the San Leandro police.
The suspect then searched the victim and took his cell phone and some cash and then got in the victim’s car and drove off towards East 14th Street.
A second suspect followed in a dark colored Honda Accord, Tudor said.
About 45 minutes later, the Oakland police said they located both cars on the 900 block of 70th Avenue and caught one suspect, a 22-year-old Oakland man.
The suspect was arrested for carjacking, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen car, and parole violation.
No gun was found by police and the second suspect was not found.
It was also discovered that the Honda used in the carjacking had been reported stolen from Morgan Hill.
The suspect is being held at Santa Rita jai in Dublin on $145,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned this week.
