The Grocery Outlet was robbed by two armed men Monday night, and one fired a shot into the ceiling.
The men entered the store just before 8 p.m. and one fired a single shot , said Lt. Randy Brandt of the San Leandro police. No one was injured.
The two robbers entered the store at 2179 East 14th Street, which was full of customers and employees. They approached an employee and gave orders to open the cash register. The employee handed over some cash and the two men fled the store.
The suspects are described as two black male adults, both with large builds. They were wearing black knit caps, hooded sweatshirts, and jeans at the time of the robbery, Brandt said.
Police say they are not releasing more details because the crime is under investigation.
The police ask anyone with information to call the police department’s tip line at 577-3278.
