A man has been arrested by Oakland police for suspicion of robbing several banks, including the U.S. Bank in San Leandro that was held up the week before Christmas.
Police arrested Oakland resident Amanuel Moreno on Jan. 28, according to Lt. Randy Brandt of the San Leandro police.
Moreno has been tied to the U.S. bank robbery that took place on Dec. 18 as well as robberies at banks in Oakland, Union City and other East Bay cities throughout December.
In the San Leandro robbery, the suspect used a note that said he was armed to rob the bank, but no one saw a gun, Brandt said.
Moreno is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on $205,000 bail and is scheduled to enter a plea on Feb. 13.
