Photo given to sheriff’s investigators from a home security camera shows a woman picking up and carrying package from a porch.

A woman appearing to be in her late 20s or early 30s is being sought in connection with the theft of UPS packages delivered to the front doors of homes along Queen St. and Knight Drive in Castro Valley.

The thefts occurred during the afternoon hours of Friday, Feb. 15.

The apparent suspect’s image was captured on home security cameras in both neighborhoods as she walked up to the houses and retrieved the parcels left on porches and at door steps. The suspect  is believed to have an accomplice driving a newer model silver Honda Civic with custom rims.

Residents on both streets said they have filed reports of the thefts with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.

“It seems like they may be following the UPS truck around. It a bold thing to do during the daytime,” said one resident who had a package valued at about $500 stolen from the porch of her Knight Drive home.

Anyone with information on the package thief is asked to call the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office at 510-667-7721.
