The Temple Beth Shalom preschool kids put on their bicycle helmets last Tuesday and headed out to the playground to take a ride.
Teachers helped the kids decorate their bicycles for a bikeathon in the school playground to raise raised money for St. Jude’s Hospital.
At the same time, the kids learned the rules of the road.
Handmade signs were set up around the playground, indicating driveways and intersections – and reminders to look right and left – as the kids navigated the course.
“I want the kids to learn bicycle safety as well as the sense of giving,” said preschool director Edna Vaknin.
