Over the Limit

Saturday, August 16: at 2:42 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 31-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of public intoxication. The woman was hanging outside an apartment complex on Wilbeam Avenue near Wilbeam Court when deputies arrived. The woman failed her field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Driving Under the Influence of Drugs

Saturday, August 16: at 12:55 a.m., a 24-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of illegal narcotics. Deputies pulled the man over on Castro Valley Boulevard near Park Way after watching him drive erratically in the neighborhood. The man was taken into custody.

 

Burglar Arrested With Lock-Picking Tools

Friday, August 15: at 9:50 a.m., an emergency call about a suspected burglar sent deputies to a home on Butterfield Drive near Wicher Street, There they arrested a 20-year-old man from Castro Valley fitting the description on suspicion of attempted burglary and possession of lock-picking tools. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Traffic Stop Nets Marijuana Bust

Tuesday, August 12: at 1:09 p.m., deputies arrested a local couple on drug-related charges following a traffic stop at the intersection of Somerset Avenue and San Miguel Avenue. The driver, a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley was pulled over by deputies as his driver’s registration had expired. During the stop, deputies discovered more than 28.5 grams of marijuana in his possession. The passenger, a 42-year-old woman from Hayward was also found with an illegal amount of marijuana in her possession. Both were handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

One Too Many

Tuesday, August 12: at 4:06 a.m., a 33-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Deputies noticed him driving erratically in the neighborhood and stopped him at the intersection of East Castro Valley Boulevard and Nugget Canyon Drive. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Orange County Man Arrested

Tuesday, August 12: at 1:21 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 34-year-old man from Dana Point (Orange County) on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near John Drive when deputies caught up with him. The man was taken into custody. His vehicle impounded.

 

Parolee in Hospital Gown

Tuesday, August 12: at 5:23 a.m., a 35-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested at Eden Medical Center after staff discovered the man was wanted as part of a warrant for his arrest. The man had been at the hospital dressed in a hospital gown for an undisclosed treatment when deputies arrived to serve the warrant. The man charged with violating the terms of his parole and was taken to Santa Rita Jail where he was held without bail.

 

Wanted Man With Drugs

Monday, August 11: at 9:34 a.m., deputies arrested a 34-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. He was also wanted as part of a warrant for his arrest. The man was traveling on Grove Way near Crow Canyon Road when deputies caught up with him and discovered his stash. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Wanted Man With Methamphetamine

Saturday, August 9: at 1:45 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 42-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was at a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street when deputies identified him. The man was also found to have methamphetamine drugs in his possession. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Missed the Bathroom

Saturday, August 9: at 10:29 p.m., an emergency call about a man who defecated in public sent deputies to a business on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. There, they arrested a 43-year-old man from San Francisco on suspicion of public defecation. The man was also wanted as part of a warrant for his arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $5,000 in bail.

Saturday, August 9: at 9:27 p.m., a 48-year-old woman with no permanent address was arrested on two counts of possession of methamphetamine drugs. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Aspen Avenue when deputies stopped her for questioning and discovered her stash. The woman was also wanted as part of a warrant for her capture. Deputies handcuffed her and took her to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Assault With a Deadly Weapon

Saturday, August 9: at 8:08 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a yard on Crescent Avenue near Ruby Street. There they arrested a 46-year-old woman with no permanent address on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The woman was also wanted as part of a warrant for her arrest. Deputies handcuffed her and took the woman to Santa Rita Jail without bail. The victim was treated at the scene.

Resisted Arrest

Saturday, August 9: at 1:33 a.m., deputies arrested a 32-year-old man from San Francisco on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana and resisting arrest. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Santa Maria Avenue when deputies stopped him for questioning. Deputies discovered the man’s stash after he became defensive. The man was taken into custody.

Suspended Driver’s License

Wednesday, August 6: at 9:06 a.m., a 54-year-old man from San Leandro was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and driving with an unregistered vehicle. Deputies identified the man and stopped him in the Castro Village shopping center. The man was taken into custody. The vehicle was towed.

Drug Seller Captured

Tuesday, August 5: at 8:54 a.m., deputies arrested a 44-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics for sale and resisting arrest. The man was also wanted as part of a warrant issued for his capture. Deputies spotted the man walking through a parking lot on Castro Valley Boulevard near Wisteria Street before approaching him. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Drugs in His Bag

Tuesday, August 5: at 5:16 p.m., a 23-year-old man form Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics, an illegal amount of marijuana drugs, and illegal drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped the man for questioning in the parking lot of a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when they discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

Domestic Assault

Tuesday, August 5: at 3:10 a.m., an emergency call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Sherman Drive near Pineville Circle. There they arrested a 45-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal battery and issuing death threats. The man was taken into custody, the victim was treated at the scene.

Can’t Stay Away

Monday, August 4: at 12:20 p.m., deputies arrested a 21-year-old woman from Antioch on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against her and intent to defraud another person. The woman was additionally wanted as part of a warrant issued for her arrest. Deputies approached the woman after receiving a call about a suspicious person walking around Foothill Boulevard near John Drive. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $10,000 in bail.

The woman was at a home on Young Avenue near Lessley Avenue when deputies arrived. The woman was also charged with giving deputies a false ID. The woman was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $15,000 in bail.

Wanted Man Out Shopping

Sunday, August 3: at 1:32 p.m., a 27-year-old man from Fresno was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was hanging outside a grocery store on Redwood Road near the Boulevard when deputies identified him. The man was additionally charged with giving deputies a false name, an expired driver’s license. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $452,000 in bail.

One Too Many

Sunday, August 3: at 7:28 p.m., deputies arrested a 44-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was hanging outside a church on Lake Chabot Road near Christensen Lane when deputies arrived. They also determined that the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Busted for Drugs

Monday, August 4: at 4:43 a.m., a 36-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs, marijuana drugs, and illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was in front of a home on David Street near Center Street when deputies approached him for questioning and discovered his stash . The man was taken into custody.

Breaking and Entering

Thursday, July 31: at 7:39 p.m., deputies arrested an 18-year-old woman from San Leandro on suspicion of breaking and entering an automobile on Redwood Road near Redwood Court. The woman was standing by the car when deputies arrived. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Domestic Battery

Wednesday, July 30: at 10:36 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Greenacre Road near Marshall Street. There, they arrested a 45-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of battery against a person at the home. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

Over the Limit

Wednesday, July 30: at 1:34 p.m., a 35-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies approached the man for questioning as he was hanging out in the parking lot of a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue. The main failed his sobriety test and was taken into custody.

Wayward Shopping Cart

Monday, July 28: at 10:29 p.m., deputies arrested a 45-year-old woman with no permanent address on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The woman was pushing a shopping card along Anita Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies approached her and discovered. The woman was taken into custody.

Driving High

Monday, July 28: at 12:52 p.m., a 48-year-old man from Phoenix Arizona was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an illegal substance. Deputies pulled the man over on Grove Way near Redwood Road after noticing that he was driving erratically. The man was found to have an inhalant in a brown bag beside him. Busted for Pot

Sunday, July 27: at 6:26.p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 53-year-old man on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The man was hanging out in a grocery store parking lot on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies stopped him for questioning. That’s when they asked him to empty his pockets and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Suspended License

Sunday, July 27: at 12:12 p.m., a 25-year-old man from CV was arrested as part of a warrant out for his capture and for driving with a suspended license. Deputies stopped at a home on Topaz Court near Gem Avenue to serve the warrant. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Illegal Drug Kit

Sunday, July 27: at 4:45 p.m., deputies arrested a 54-year-old woman from San Leandro on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. The woman was hanging outside a grocery store parking lot on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies approached her for questioning and discovered her stash. The woman was also served a warrant for her arrest on a separate charge. The woman posted bail and was given a citation to appear in court.

 

Family Fight

Sunday, July 27: at 4:30 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Renton Way near Park Way. There, they arrested a 33-year-old woman from CV on suspicion of aggravated assault against a family member and public intoxication. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody. Victim was treated at the scene.

 

Deadly Weapon

Friday, July 25: at 10:47 p.m., deputies arrested a 50-year-old man from San Lorenzo on suspicion of brandishing a deadly weapon. The man was traveling on Lake Chabot Road across the street from Eden Hospital when deputies approached him and saw him waving an unspecified weapon. The man blurted out to deputies, “I want a lawyer,” before being taken into custody.

 

Possession of Illegal Amount of Marijuana

Friday, July 25: at 10:57 p.m., a 32-year-old man from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The man was traveling on Redwood Road near Norbridge Avenue when deputies pulled him over and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Finders (Not) Keepers

Friday, July 25: at 2:19 a.m., deputies arrested a 38-year-old man from Concord on suspicion of theft. The man was hanging out in the BART Castro Valley parking lot when deputies responded to a report of an unidentified stolen item. The man claimed to have found the object until the owner showed up and claimed it. The suspect was taken into custody.

 

Fake Gun

Friday, July 25: at 1:25 a.m., a 46-year-old woman from CV was arrested on suspicion of carrying a plastic gun that had been modified to look like a real gun. Deputies approached the woman for questioning as she was traveling on Norbridge Ave. and Tyee Court. When she revealed the fake weapon, deputies issued her a citation and instructions to appear in court.

 

Spousal Battery

Thursday, July 24: at 2:17 a.m., an emergency call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a storefront on Lake Chabot Road. There they arrested a 33-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of assaulting his partner. The man was also wanted as part of a warrant for his arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held pending $10,000 bail. The victim was treated at the scene.

Thursday, July 24: at 5:50 p.m., deputies arrested a 31-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of aggravated assault on a family member, threats of bodily harm and violating the terms of his parole. The man was also wanted as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was at a home on Mountain Lane near Cold Water Drive when deputies arrived to serve the warrant. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Wednesday, July 23: at 2:24 a.m., a 43-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and without a valid driver’s license. Deputies pulled the man over in front of a home on Alana Road after following the man for a few blocks. The man was taken into custody.

 

Illegal Knife

Wednesday, July 23 at 2:01 a.m., an emergency call about a suspicious person sent deputies to a home on Center Street near Heyer Avenue. There, they arrested a 37-year-old man from Oroville (Butte County) fitting the description on suspicion of carrying a knife longer than two inches. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Stolen Car

Tuesday, July 22: at 8:19 p.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old woman from Hayward on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. The woman was traveling on Lake Chabot Road across from Eden Hospital when deputies pulled her over. The woman was taken into custody. The vehicle was towed.

 

Graffiti Artist Arrested

Tuesday, July 22: at 10:25 p.m., a 39-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of vandalism at a home on Forrest Avenue near Forrest Circle. Deputies stopped the woman for questioning after receiving an anonymous tip. The woman was given a citation and instructions to appear in court.

Tuesday, July 15: at 11:06.p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 23-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of grand theft auto and driving a stolen vehicle. The man was traveling on Wilbeam Avenue near Kerr Street when deputies identified the stolen car and pulled the man over. The man was taken into custody. The car was impounded.

Tuesday, July 15: at 10:11 p.m., an emergency call about a small fire set around the San Lorenzo Creek watershed near Castro Valley Boulevard sent deputies to the scene. There they arrested a 53-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of setting an illegal fire, possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs and public intoxication. The fire was quickly extinguished. The man was taken into custody.

Monday, July 14: at 5:11 p.m., deputies arrested a 58-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was hanging out in front of a business on Grove Way near Center Street when deputies approached him for questioning and discovered his drug kit. The man was taken into custody.


Invalid Vehicle Registration

Monday, July 14: at 6:03 p.m., a 19-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of driving with an expired vehicle registration. Deputies spotted the vehicle and pulled the man over near the intersection of Strobridge Avenue and Castro Valley Boulevard. The man was given a citation and instructed to appear in court.

Sunday, July 13: at 6:45 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 34-year-old man from Castro Valley to serve a warrant issued for his capture. The man was traveling on Seven Hills Road near Redwood Road when deputies identified the man and stopped him for questioning. The man was also charged with suspected possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.


Resisted Arrest

Sunday, July 13: at 8:30 p.m., a 53-year-old man from San Leandro was arrested on two counts of suspicion of violating the terms of his promise to appear in court. Deputies also sought the man out to serve a warrant issued for his capture. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies spotted him and pulled him over. The man was additionally charged with two counts of suspected possession of marijuana drugs, illegal drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held pending $20,000 in bail.

Saturday, July 12: at 8:25 p.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old woman with no permanent address on suspicion of contempt of court orders to appear. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street when deputies identified her and stopped her for questioning. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $20,000 in bail.

Saturday, July 12: at 3:00 a.m., a 28-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies spotted the man having trouble walking on Castro Valley Boulevard near outside the Castro Village Shopping Center and stopped him. There they found the man was intoxicated. Wanted Woman

Friday, July 11: at 1:08.p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 32-year-old woman as part of a warrant for her arrest related to suspected possession of stolen property. The woman was hanging outside a liquor store on Redwood Road near Grove Way when deputies identified her and served her warrant. The woman was additionally arrested for suspected possession of 0.4 grams of methamphetamine drugs. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $510,000 in bail.

 

Two Men With Drugs

Friday, July 11: at 12:20 a.m., two men from San Lorenzo were arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal drugs. Deputies stopped the two for questioning at the intersection of John Drive and the Boulevard. A 28-year-old man was found with more than 28.5 grams of marijuana in his possession. His associate, a 27-year-old man ran a quarter mile down the street towards 167th Avenue before deputies detained him. The second man was found with an additional amount of marijuana.

Wednesday, July 9: at 9:23 a.m., deputies arrested a 28-year-old man from Emeryville was arrested as part of a warrant for his arrest related to a probation violation. The man was traveling on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies pulled him over to serve his warrant. The man was additionally charged with driving with a suspended license. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $10,000 in bail.

Wednesday, July 9: at 10:30 a.m., a 36-year-old man from CV was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped the man for questioning on Nunes Avenue near Kerr Street when they discovered his drug kit. The man said the paraphernalia was for medicinal purposes but could not show official proof. Deputies cited the man and instructed him to appear in court.

The woman was traveling on the Boulevard near John Drive when deputies stopped her for questioning. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Tuesday, July 8: at 11:10 a.m., a 48-year-old woman from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics. Deputies stopped the woman for questioning at the intersection of Castro Valley Boulevard and San Miguel Boulevard when they found her stash. The woman was handcuffed and transported to Hayward Hall of Justice.

Tuesday, July 8: at 1:24 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a church parking lot on John Drive near Castro Valley. There they arrested a 47-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of spousal battery. The man was also charged with defacing private property. Deputies took the man into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

Monday, July 7: at 10:28 a.m., deputies responded to an emergency call about a family-based argument in the backyard of a home on West Cavendish Drive near Briar Ridge Drive. There they arrested a 70-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of traumatic assault on a family member. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Attack at Home

Monday, July 7: at 7:42 p.m., a 59-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault in front of a home on Queen Court near Queen Street in Castro Valley. Deputies responded to an emergency call from the home. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Wanted Man Won’t Leave the Motel

Monday, July 7: at 4:51 p.m., deputies arrested a 36-year-old man from Oakland as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was hanging out at a motel on Castro Valley Boulevard near Park Way but refused to leave. Deputies arrived on the scene following a call from the motel manager. The man was cited for resisting arrest and then taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Big Knife

Monday, July 7: at 10:42 a.m., a 57-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a knife with a blade longer than 2-inches in length. Deputies spotted the man outside a diner on Castro Valley Boulevard near Wilbeam Avenue. The man was cited for the misdemeanor and told to put his knife away.

Sunday, July 6: at 11:45.p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 60-year-old man as part of a warrant for his arrest related to suspected possession of stolen property. The man was hanging out in a parking lot at the 580 Market Place shopping center when deputies identified him. The man was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Too Much Celebrating

Saturday, July 5: at 11:55 p.m., a 54-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies spotted the man hanging out in front of an apartment on Anita Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard and having a problem standing up straight. The man was found to be under the influence and taken into custody.

Saturday, July 5: at 6:41 p.m., deputies arrested two brothers on drunk and disorderly-related charges. A 22-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. His 19-year-old brother from Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of malicious destruction of private property.

There, they arrested a 46-year-old woman from Castro Valley Boulevard on suspicion of physical battery against another person in the home. The woman was taken into custody. Saturday, July 5: at 12:18 a.m., deputies arrested a 32-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving while under the influence of illegal drugs. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street when deputies pulled her over and noticed her stash. The woman was taken into custody. Her car was impounded.

Wednesday, July 2: at 10:58 p.m., a 48-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and carrying a dagger with a blade longer than 2 inches. Deputies spotted the man hanging outside a home on Grove Way near Queen Street. They discovered his weapon after they stopped him for questioning. Drunk and Drugged Driving

Thursday, June 26: at 1:09 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 32-year-old man from Fremont on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs and alcohol as well as driving with an invalid driver’s license. The man was traveling on Grove Way near Center Street when deputies noticed something odd about his driving and pulled him over into a parking lot of a nearby fast-food restaurant. The man was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Shoplifter Caught

Tuesday, June 24: at 5:20 p.m., a 53-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of attempted shoplifting at a grocery store on Redwood Road near the Boulevard. Deputies responded to the scene following a call from store security, which caught the man leaving with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. Deputies also identified the man as having a warrant issued for his arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $10,000 in bail.

 

Hospital Trespasser

Monday, June 23: at 12:35 p.m., an emergency call about a suspicious person wandering around Eden Hospital on Lake Chabot Road sent deputies to the scene. There, they arrested a 42-year-old woman from Oakland on suspicion of trespassing. The woman was detained by a bystander who put the wayward woman under citizen’s arrest until the deputies arrived. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Over the Limit

Tuesday, June 24: at 9:40 p.m., deputies arrested a 30-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving while under the influence of a narcotic. The man was traveling on Wisteria Street near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies caught up with him. The man was also wanted as part of a warrant issued for his arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Pot in Her Pocket

Saturday, June 21: at 11:36 a.m., a 55-year-old woman with no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. Deputies approached the woman for questioning while she was traveling on Grove Way near Center Street. During the discussion, they discovered the cannabis in her pockets. The woman was taken into custody.

Wednesday, June 18: at 9:26 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 44-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana and illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was traveling on Grove Way near Redwood Road when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Deadly Weapon

Wednesday, June 18: at 1:45 a.m., a 54-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. An emergency call about an altercation at a park on San Miguel Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard sent deputies to the scene. When they approached the man, he became confrontational and would not cooperate. The man was taken into custody.

 

Texas Two-Step And Stumble

Tuesday, June 17: at 2:09 p.m., deputies arrested a 30-year-old woman from Pasadena, Texas on suspicion of public intoxication and possession of a knife with a blade longer than 2 inches. The woman was stopped in front of a motel on the Boulevard near Stanton Ave when deputies approached her. The woman failed field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

He Fought the Law

Tuesday, June 17: at 6:30 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Ranspot Drive near Selby Drive. There they arrested a 26-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of aggravated assault and battery on an occupant of the home as well as assaulting a peace officer in the process. the victim was treated at the scene. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending bail.

 

Domestic Battery

Monday, June 16: at 9:40 p.m., a 54-year-old man from CV was arrested on suspicion of battery against a person at a home on Greenridge Drive near Highwood Road. Deputies were called to the scene following a 911 call for domestic violence. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. Victim was treated at the scene.

 

Suspended License

Monday, June 16: at 12:53 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 47-year-old man from San Leandro on suspicion of driving without a valid drivers license and an outdated vehicle registration. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies identified the vehicle and pulled the man over. The man was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man Nabbed for Theft

Monday, June 16: at 10:20 a.m., a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of property theft as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was at a home on Queen Street near Grove Way when deputies served the warrant. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Fake ID Sends Man to Jail

Monday, June 16: at 4:45 p.m., a 22-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of providing false identification during questioning. Deputies stopped the man behind a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near San Carlos Avenue to serve a warrant for his arrest. The man provided false documents but was eventually identified. Deputes took the man to San Jose Hall of Justice pending $3,000 in bail.

 

Female Graffiti Artist Arrested

Monday, June 16: at 2:20 p.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old woman with no permanent address on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs and defacement of public property. The woman was hanging out behind a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Baker Road when deputies caught up with her. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Concentrated Cannabis

Monday, June 16: at 8:14 a.m., a 30-year-old man from Fremont was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unspecified amount of concentrated cannabis. Deputies contacted the man at a home on Heyer Avenue near Corey Way to serve a warrant for his capture when they discovered his stash. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $10,000 in bail.

Thursday, June 12: at 1:41 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 43-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of grand theft and violating the terms of her parole. The woman was at a home on Aubrey Drive when deputies approached her about the crime. The woman was taken into custody without incident.

 

Robbery Suspect Nabbed

Thursday, June 12: at 3:50 a.m., a 19-year-old man from San Leandro was arrested on suspicion of robbery from a store on Grove Way near Redwood Road. Deputies managed to chase the man and stop him in front of a home on Grove Way near North 5th Street. The man was taken into custody.

 

Caught With Drugs, Again

Thursday, June 12: at 3:22 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 36-year-old man from Murphys, Calif. (Calaveras County) on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. It was the man’s second time being caught for such an offense. The man had been traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near the entrance to Northbound Interstate 238 when deputies pulled him over and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.Warrant Served for Breathless Man

Wednesday, June 11: at 12:55 p.m., a 38-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was previously arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license, and driving a vehicle without an “ignition interlock device” (a Breathalyzer that unlocks the ignition). Deputies served the warrant at a home on Lone Oak Place. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $7,500 in bail.

 

Hit and Run Suspect

Wednesday, June 11: at 12:00 p.m., deputies served a warrant to arrest a 38-year-old CV man on suspicion of hit and run driving as well as driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The man was at a home on Betlen Way near Grove Way when deputies served the warrant. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $120,000 in bail.

 

Pot in His Pocket

Monday, June 9: at 10:32 a.m., a 26-year-old man from San Lorenzo was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The man was traveling on Lake Chabot Road near Carleen Drive when deputies approached him for questioning and discovered his stash in his pocket. The man was taken into custody.

Tuesday, June 10: at 12:50 p.m., deputies served a warrant and arrested a 30-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon intended to cause great bodily harm. The man was hanging out in front of a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Baker Street when deputies arrived and served the warrant for his capture. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Wanted Woman With Drugs

Tuesday, June 10: at 11:14 a.m., a 43-year-old woman from Castro Valley was served a warrant and arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. The woman was at an apartment on Wilbeam Avenue near Kerr Street when deputies served the warrant. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $10,000 in bail.

 

Expired Driver’s License

Tuesday, June 10: at 9:31 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 37-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving with an expired driver’s license. The woman was traveling on Grove Way near Redwood Road when deputies stopped her for the traffic infraction. The woman was taken to the Hayward Hall of Justice without incident.

 

Reckless Driving

Tuesday, June 10: at 1:25 a.m., a 36-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. Deputies pulled the man over at Grove Way near Orange Avenue after they noticed him driving erratically in the neighborhood. The man refused to give a Breathalyzer test and was taken into custody.

 

Intoxicated and Can’t Stay Away

Monday, June 9: at 6:55 a.m., an emergency call about a suspicious person in the neighborhood sent deputies to a home on Briar Ridge Drive near Cull Canyon Road. There, deputies identified and arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of public intoxication and violating a court-issued restraining order against him. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Traffic Stop Ends in Arrests

Monday, June 9: at 12:18 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested two men on suspicion of possession of drugs and stolen property. The two men were traveling on Grove Way near Center Street when deputies pulled them over for a traffic violation. The driver, a 24-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs, driving with a suspended license and driving while under the influence of drugs. The passenger, a 23-year-old man from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property. Both men were taken into custody.

Thursday, June 5: at 9:17 p.m., sheriff’s deputies pulled over and arrested two people from CV on driving and drug charges. The driver, a 34-year-old man, was traveling on Norbridge Avenue when deputies stopped him in front of a home on Juniper Street near Elm Street. The man was charged with suspicion of driving with a suspended license. The passenger, a 31-year-old woman, was charged with possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The couple was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Wanted Woman Wavers

Thursday, June 5: at 10:51 a.m., a 29-year-old woman from Oakdale, Calif. (Stanislaus County) was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The woman was additionally sought after as part of a warrant issued for her capture. Deputies identified the woman after stopping her at the intersection of Norbridge Avenue and the Boulevard. She failed her sobriety test and was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held pending $5,000 in bail.

Dangerous Dirt Bike

Wednesday, June 4: at 10:10 a.m., a 26-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving an off-highway motor vehicle on city streets. The man was also cited for carrying illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was puttering along Strobridge Avenue and Castro Valley Boulevard when he was stopped and taken into custody.

The man was hanging outside a pharmacy on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies picked him up as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Domestic Abuse

Tuesday, June 3: at 12:55 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Anita Avenue. Deputies caught up with the man on Star Avenue near Ada Street as part of a traffic stop. There they found the drugs in the man’s pocket. The man was taken into custody.

Saturday, May 31: at 12:25 a.m., an emergency call about a suspicious person in the neighborhood sent deputies to a home on Somerset Avenue near Stanton Avenue. There they arrested a 32-year-old man with no permanent address o suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against him. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Thursday, May 29: at 12:45 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 52-year-old man who gave no address on suspicion of stealing a car, breaking into a car, and possession of lock-picking equipment. The man was traveling on Vaughn Avenue near Nedra Way when deputies stopped him. The man was taken into custody. The car was impounded.

Friday, May 30: at 1:12 a.m., a 20-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Deputies pulled the man over on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard after noticing him swerving in and out of traffic. The man was taken into custody.

 

Trouble Times Two

Thursday, May 29: at 9:09 p.m., deputies arrested two men from Castro Valley on Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street on various felony counts. A 42-year-old man was charged with violating a restraining order issued against him. His associate, a 40-year-old, was charged with possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Both men were taken into custody.

 

Wanted Woman

Wednesday, May 28: at 8:30 a.m., a 19-year-old woman from Oakdale, Calif. (Stanislaus County) was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The woman was additionally sought after for a warrant issued for her capture. Deputies served the warrant at a home on Walnut Road near Reamer Road. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $5,000 in bail.

 

Intoxicated in the Parking Lot

Wednesday, May 28: at 9:20 a.m., an emergency call about a man staggering around a grocery store parking lot on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard sent deputies to the scene. There they identified and arrested a 52-year-old man from San Francisco on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Domestic Disturbance

Monday, May 26: at 8:15 p.m., deputies were called to a parking lot on Castro Valley Boulevard near San Miguel Avenue to investigate a domestic disturbance. There they arrested a 31-year-old woman from Hayward on suspicion of assault on a family member. The woman was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Joy Ride Ends in Multiple Arrests

Monday, May 26: at 9:57 p.m., three people were arrested on various felony counts stemming from a joy ride in a stolen auto. Deputies caught up with the men at the intersection of Santa Maria Avenue and Jamison Way. The driver, a 19-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. A 19-year-old man from Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of breaking into the vehicle. A 19-year-old man from Oakland was arrested as part of a warrant for his capture. The man had previously been charged with petty theft, breaking and entering, and brandishing a deadly weapon that included a laser pointer. Deputies identified the man and stopped him to serve the warrant  The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $65,000 in bail. The other two men were also taken into custody.
