Pot Bust

Thursday, February 13: at 7:29 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 43-year-old man from San Leandro on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The man was traveling on Grove Way near 5th Street in Castro Valley when deputies approached him and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Guns and Drugs

Thursday, February 13: at 5:21 p.m., two people were arrested at a mobile home park on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street on suspicion of illegal drug and weapons possession. Deputies were sent to the address to issue a warrant to a 36-year-old man from Rodeo (Contra Costa County) wanted for a previous arrest. There, they found him to be in illegal possession of a firearm. A 40-year-old woman from Oakland also at the scene was found with illegal narcotics. Deputies took the woman into custody. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $70,000 in bail.

 

Breaking and Entering

Wednesday, February 12: at 8:42 p.m., an anonymous tip about a suspicious person near a school on Idena Avenue near Lessley Avenue sent deputies to the scene. There, they arrested a 23-year-old man with no known address on suspicion of breaking and entering and possession of stolen property. The man was taken into custody.

 

Drinking Buddies

Wednesday, February 12: at 4:50 p.m., deputies arrested two men from Castro Valley on suspicion of public intoxication near the intersection of Redwood Road and Grove Way. The men were traveling along road when deputies stopped them for questioning. The men failed their sobriety test and were taken into custody. Arrested at the site were a 50-year-old man from Castro Valley and a 43-year-old man from San Leandro.

 

Two Had One Too Many

Tuesday, February 11: at 4:06 p.m., two people from Castro Valley were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies spotted a 28-year-old woman and 29-year-old man loitering at the intersection of Lake Chabot Road and Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies reported the smell of alcohol on their breath. Both failed their field sobriety tests and were taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man With Stolen Goods

Tuesday, February 11: at 1:14 a.m., deputies arrested a 26-year-old man from San Leandro as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was traveling on San Miguel Avenue and Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies approached him. The man was additionally charged with public intoxication, possession of stolen property, and defacement of public property. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Wrong Turn Ends in Arrest

Sunday, February 9: at 1:42 p.m., a 22-year-old man from Livermore was arrested as part of a warrant issued for his capture. Deputies pulled the man over on Park Way near Renton Way after the man made an illegal turn. Sunday, February 9: at 1:42 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 22-year-old man from Livermore as part of a court-ordered warrant for his capture. The man was wanted for a previous arrest involving driving while under the influence and possession of marijuana. Deputies approached the man in front of an apartment on Park Way near Renton Way. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $1,000 bail.

 

Public Intoxication

Sunday, February 9: at 2:51 p.m., a 19-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was hanging out in front of a liquor store on Redwood Road near Grove Way when deputies approached him and noticed alcohol on his breath. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Vandalism

Saturday, February 8: at 2:45 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 26-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of malicious vandalism. The man was also apprehended as part of a court-ordered warrant for his capture. The man was traveling on Redwood Road near Interstate 580 when deputies identified the man and stopped him for questioning. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $20,000 in bail.

 

Drug Argument

Friday, February 7: at 2:20 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Riverbank Avenue near Hobert Street in Castro Valley. There they arrested a 44-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and assault on a family member. Deputies report spotting the man in the middle of the street as they approached him. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

She Got Pot

Thursday, February 6: at 9:30 p.m., deputies arrested a 26-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The woman was traveling on Stanton Avenue near San Carlos Avenue when deputies approached her and discovered her stash. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Stolen Car Sends Three

Parolees Back To Jail

Wednesday, February 5: at 12:45 p.m., Three men from Castro Valley were arrested for violating the terms of their parole and resisting arrest. Deputies conducting a traffic stop at the intersection of Center Street and Grove Way identified and arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of lock-picking equipment, assault on another person, and trying to evade arrest. A 34-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested as part of a court-ordered warrant for his capture.The man also was found in possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and lock-picking tools. The man’s case was referred to the FBI. Deputies also cited a 26-year-old man in the car for violating the terms of his parole and resisting arrest. All three men ware taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

She’s Also Got Pot

Wednesday, February 5: at 1:48 p.m., a 38-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. Deputies spotted the woman on the corner of Castro Valley Boulevard near Anita Avenue when they discovered her stash. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Liquid Lunch

Tuesday, February 4: at 10:05 a.m., deputies arrested a 55-year-old man with no permanent address on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was hanging out in front of a sandwich shop on Castro Valley Boulevard near Lake Chabot Road when deputies were called to intervene. The man was taken into custody.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Tuesday, February 4: at 12:34 a.m., a 34-year-old man from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of violating a court-issued protective restraining order and vandalism. Deputies were called to a home on Norbridge Road near San Miguel Avenue to find the man under citizen’s arrest. The man was taken into custody.

 

Over The Limit

Monday, February 3: at 12:11 p.m., deputies arrested a 48-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The man was also wanted as part of a court-ordered warrant for his capture. Deputies stopped the man on Palomares Road south of Palo Verde Road in Castro Valley. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $20,000 in bail.

 

Pot Sale Busted

Monday, February 3: at 8:35 a.m., a 21-year-old man from Fremont was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana prepared for sale and violating the terms of his parole. The man was walking through the Castro Village Shopping Center on Patio Drive when deputies approached him and confiscated his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Robbery Thwarted

Monday, February 3: at 3:46 a.m., a silent alarm from a business on Center Street near Sargent avenue sent deputies to the scene, There, they arrested a 42.year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of robbery. The man was also wanted as part of a court-ordered warrant for his capture. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Two Arrested for Theft

Friday, January 31: at 7:38 p.m., an emergency call about a theft sent deputies to a grocery store on Redwood Road near the Boulevard. There, they arrested a 21-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man both from CV on suspicion of theft. Store security had caught the couple leaving with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The pair were handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Public Intoxication

Saturday, February 1: at 2:22 a.m., a 28-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was traveling on Proctor Road near Lamson Road when deputies caught up with him. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Driving Impaired

Saturday, February 1: at 3:30 a.m., deputies arrested a 23-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was driving on Tyler Court near Apricot Way when deputies pulled him over for driving erratically in the neighborhood. The man was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Woman, Stolen Goods

Thursday, January 30: at 12:30 p.m., a 26-year-old woman from San Ramon was arrested as part of a court-ordered warrant for a previous offense. Deputies spotted the woman driving along Crow Canyon Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies identified her and pulled her over. The woman was additionally charged with possession of stolen property. She was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $2,500 in bail.

Friday, January 31: at 1:35 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 31-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a court-ordered warrant for leaving the scene of a hit and run accident. The man was traveling on the Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies identified him. Wednesday, January 29: at 11:52 p.m., deputies arrested a 23-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs, an illegal amount of marijuana, and illegal drug paraphernalia. The woman was outside a home on Stanton Heights Court near Stanton Avenue when deputies pulled up and discovered her stash. The woman was taken into custody.

Thursday, January 30: at 2:05 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 35-year-old man from Hayward as part of a court-ordered warrant for possession of methamphetamine drugs. The man was traveling on Grove Way near Bedford Drive when deputies pulled him over. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Monday, January 21: at 1:21 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Ganic Street near Wisteria Street. There they arrested a 29-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member and child endangerment. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Tuesday, January 28: at 1:28 a.m., a 55-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was stumbling along Stanton Avenue near Nordell Avenue when deputies caught up with him. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

Tuesday, January 28: at 12:42 a.m. deputies arrested a 49-year-old woman from San Rafael on suspicion of possession of stolen property and possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. Family Fight Over Stolen Goods

Saturday, January 25: at 11:35 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Grove Way near Queen Street. There they arrested three people in connection with a domestic disturbance. A 42-year-old man from CV was arrested on suspicion of assault on a family member, child endangerment, and resisting arrest. A 44-year-old woman from Dublin was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property. A 16-year-old cousin of the man was also arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest. All three were handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Robbery Suspect Caught

Saturday, January 25: at 8:56 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 32-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of robbery at a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard at the 580 Market Place shopping center. Store security detained the man after observing him leaving the store with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Birthday Pot Bust

Friday, January 24: at 4:43 a.m., a  28-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The woman was hanging out in front of an apartment on Santa Maria Avenue during a birthday celebration when deputies pulled up and stopped her for questioning. During the conversation, deputies discovered her stash and took her into custody.

 

Arrested for Meth

Friday, January 24: at 10:20 p.m., deputies arrested a 36-year-old woman from CV on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and illegal drug paraphernalia. The woman was traveling on Redwood Road near Redwood Court when deputies stopped her for questioning. Deputies reported finding 1.0 gram of methamphetamine drugs in her pocket. The woman was taken into custody.

Wednesday, January 22: at 2:21 p.m., a 41-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested as part of a court-ordered warrant outside of a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. Deputies patrolling the area spotted the man in the parking lot and identified him as having a warrant out for his arrest. The man was additionally charged on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Saturday, January 25: at 12:58 a.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault and battery. Tuesday, January 21: at 7:21 p.m., deputies arrested a 65-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of battery against a person at home on Mountain Lane near Greenridge Road. An emergency call by neighbors sent deputies to the scene. There they arrested the man and took him into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

Monday, January 20: at 1:41 a.m., a 911 call about a loud argument sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way.

There they arrested a 33-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

Sunday, January 19: at 12:31 a.m., a 57-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Lake Chabot Road when deputies caught up with him. The man was taken into custody.

Sunday, January 19: at 2:08 a.m., deputies arrested a 44-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of possession of an illegal long dagger-like knife. The man was staying at a roadside motel on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street when deputies approached him fro questioning. There they discovered the dagger in his shoe. Thursday, January 16: at 5:20 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested two women from CV on suspicion of public intoxication and street begging. The women were spotted accosting drivers along Grove Way near the Eastbound I-580 entrance when deputies arrived. There they questioned a 54-year-old woman and her 48-year-old friend who showed signs of intoxication. The women were taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man Caught

Wednesday, January 15: at 4:41 p.m., a 30-year-old man from Hayward was arrested as part of a court-ordered warrant for a previous offense. Deputies spotted the man driving into the Castro Village parking lot and stopped him for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. The man failed sobriety test and was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $20,000 in bail.

 

Failure to Appear

Wednesday, January 15: at 9:49 p.m., deputies arrested and cited a 43-year-old man from San Pablo (Contra Costa County) on suspicion of failure to appear in court and illegal parking. The man was pulled to the side of the road on Stanton Avenue near Denning Court when deputies arrived and questioned him. The man was given a citation for the parking job and instructions to appear in court.

Thursday, January 16: at 12:30 a.m., a 47-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies stopped the man for questioning outside a gas station on Lake Chabot Road near Castro Valley Boulevard after the man showed signs of inebriation. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Attempted Robbery Suspect Caught

Tuesday, January 14: at 1:33 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 32-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a court-ordered warrant for a previous offense. The man was suspected of his part in an attempted robbery. Deputies stopped the man on Redwood Road near Jamison Way after spotting him drive by. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $140,000 bail.

Friday, January 10: at 12:12 p.m., a 50-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia including syringes. The man was traveling along Norbridge Avenue near Wilbeam Avenue when deputies arrived to serve him a court-ordered warrant for a previous offense. Wednesday, January 8: at 8:55 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 49-year-old woman from San Leandro on suspicion of public intoxication. Security at Eden Medical Hospital on Lake Chabot Road called into the sheriff’s office after the woman walked in and showed signs of intoxication. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man

Wednesday, January 8: at 11:22 a.m., a 34-year-old man from CV was arrested as part of a court-ordered warrant for a previous offense. The man was traveling on Center Street near Paradise Knolls when deputies identified him and pulled him over on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $10,000 in bail.

 

Gassed Up at Gas Station

Wednesday, January 8: at 11:07 p.m., deputies arrested a 52-year-old man from San Francisco on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was hanging out at a gas station on the Boulevard near John Drive when deputies were called to the scene. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Driving High and Wild

Wednesday, January 8: at 5:25 p.m., a 21-year-old man from San Leandro was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and resisting arrest. Deputies pulled the man over on Vegas Avenue near Redwood Road for a traffic violation and realized the man was inebriated. The man later put up a fight before deputies handcuffed him and took him into custody.

 

Shopping Cart Blues

Tuesday, January 7: at 6:21 p.m., a 54-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested as part of a court-ordered warrant for a previous offense. Deputies spotted the man pushing a shopping cart on the Boulevard near Grove Way before detaining him. The man was cited for possession of a shopping cart outside of a store parking area and failure to appear in court. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail pending $10,000 bail.

 

Unwelcome Breakfast Visitor

Tuesday, January 7: at 7:54 a.m., a 911 call about an unwelcome intruder sent deputies to a home on Seven Hills Road near Sandy Road. There they arrested a 25-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of trespassing. A resident of the home told deputies that the man entered the home through an unlocked door in the backyard without permission to see his 17-year-old daughter. The suspect was taken into custody.

Sunday, January 5: at 8:55 p.m., deputies arrested a 28-year-old man from Modesto on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was traveling on Eastbound Interstate 580 near Redwood Road when deputies pulled him over. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Saturday, January 4: at 9:15 p.m., an emergency call about a suspicious person in the neighborhood sent deputies to a home on Lamson Road near Almond Road. There they arrested a 52-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order and violating the terms of her parole. The woman was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail.


Robbery, Battery and Resisting Arrest

Friday, January 3: at 5:15 p.m., two people from Alameda were arrested on suspicion of robbery, battery, and resisting arrest at a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies were dispatched to the scene after store security called about an altercation with shoplifters in and outside of the store. A 35-year old woman was arrested while her 43-year-old accomplice was additionally charged with violating the terms of his parole. The couple was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near John Street when deputies stopped her for questioning and discovered her stash. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Drug Seller Arrested

Thursday, January 2: at 9:08 a.m., a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested as part of a court-ordered warrant. The man was previously charged with selling illegal narcotics. Deputies approached the man at a home on Carlton Avenue near Stanton Avenue to serve the warrant. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $90,000 in bail.

Thursday, January 2: at 3:30 a.m., deputies arrested a 43-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The woman was standing outside a park on Lake Chabot Road near Quail Avenue when deputies approached her and discovered her stash. The woman was taken into custody.

Tuesday, December 31: at 7:30 p.m., an emergency call about a shoplifter sent deputies to a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. There they arrested a 23-year-old man from San Francisco on suspicion of petty theft. The man was given a citation and instructed to appear in court.

 

Shoplifter Had Drugs

Tuesday, December 31: at 8:00 p.m., deputies arrested a 27-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of shoplifting, possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, and methamphetamine drugs. The man was apprehended by store security trying to leave a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard for leaving with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was taken into custody.

 

Child Abandonment

Tuesday, December 31: at 6:53 a.m., a 911 call about a loud argument sent deputies to a home on Grove Way near Gail Drive. There, they arrested a 38-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of child endangerment and failure to provide basic food or clothing for children in the home. The woman was taken into custody. The children were sent to protective services.

 

Fighting in Hospital Gown

Saturday, December 28: at 5:58 p.m,. an emergency call from security at Eden Hospital on Lake Chabot Road sent deputies to the scene. There they arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of fighting in public. Monday, December 16: at 2:00 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 34-year-old woman from Hayward on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The woman was traveling on the Boulevard near the entrance to Westbound Interstate 580 when deputies pulled her over. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Minor With Alcohol

Monday, December 16: at 3:17 a.m., a 17-year-old boy from CV was arrested on suspicion of possession of alcohol. The boy was traveling on Center Street near Heyer Ave. when deputies stopped him. The boy was given a citation and released to his parents.

 

Shoplifter Caught

Sunday, December 15: at 3:22 p.m., deputies were called to a grocery store on Redwood Road near the Boulevard to arrest a 47-year-old man who refused to give a home address on suspicion of shoplifting. Store security detained the man after they observed him leaving the store with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was taken into custody.

 

Vandalisim

Sunday, December 15: at 5:20 a.m., a 52-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and defacement of private property. Deputies were called to a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard to investigate a disturbance. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

Sunday, December 15: at 2:28 a.m., deputies arrested a 29-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was walking underneath the freeway on Redwood Road near Eastbound Interstate 580 when deputies approached him. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Driving Under the Influence with Invalid License

Sunday, December 15: at 2:28 a.m., a 24-year-old man from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with an invalid driver’s license. Deputies pulled the man over on Redwood Road near Eastbound Interstate 580 as part of a traffic infraction. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Tossed Drugs Out Of Car Window

Saturday, December 14: at 6:30 p.m., deputies arrested a 29-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of an illegal amount of marijuana, and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was traveling on Knox Way near Grove Way in Castro Valley when deputies observed him throw a drug pipe out the window, speeding 35 in a 25 miles per hour zone, and running a stop light. The man supplied a urine sample and was taken into custody. No word on the outcome of the other two passengers in the car.

 

Stumbling Along On Stanton Ave.

Saturday, December 14: at 5:13 a.m., a 21-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was stumbling along Stanton Avenue near Nordell Avenue when deputies stopped him for questioning. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.

 

Family Scuffle at BART Parking Lot

Friday, December 13: at 2:24 p.m., deputies arrested a 53-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. The man was in the BART parking lot near Norbridge Avenue when deputies were called to investigate the fracas. The man was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Unlucky With Pepper Spray

Friday, December 13: at 11:30 a.m., an emergency call about a shoplifter at  a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard sent deputies to the scene. There they arrested a 39-year-old woman with a criminal record from Hayward on suspicion of  shoplifting. They also found her in possession of pepper spray which is a misdemeanor for someone with a criminal record. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Assault With a Deadly Weapon

Friday, December 13: at 12:45 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive argument at a home on Regent Way near John Drive sent deputies to the scene. There they arrested a 35-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a family member and vandalism of personal property in excess of $400. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

One Too Many

Friday, December 13: at 10:22 p.m., deputies arrested a 73-year-old woman on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The woman was driving along Castro Valley Boulevard near Norbridge Avenue when deputies pulled her over for questioning. The woman failed her field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Minor In Trouble

Friday, December 13: at 12:48 p.m., a 35-year-old man from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of contributing the delinquency of a minor, failure to provide proof of auto insurance, and failure to provide a valid driver’s license. The man was driving along Redwood Road near Grove Way when deputies pulled him over. The man was taken into custody. The minor was taken into protective custody.

 

Pot Bust

Tuesday, December 10: at 9:44 p.m., deputies arrested a 17-year-old boy from Antioch (Contra Costa County) was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The boy was traveling on Grove Way near Morales Court when deputies approached him for questioning. The boy was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man

Tuesday, December 10: at 7:37 a.m., a 25-year-old man from Redwood City was arrested in reference to a court-issued warrant for his arrest. The man was wanted previously wanted on suspicion of sale of illegal narcotics and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Deputies approached the man on Rockhurst Road near Seaview Avenue after identifying him. The man was handcuffed and taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $70,000 in bail.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Monday, December 9: at 7:40 p.m., deputies arrested a 60-year-old man on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order and assault on a family member. The man was stopped for questioning at an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way following an emergency call. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Sold Alcohol to Minors

Monday, December 9: at 3:38 p.m., a 25-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested as part of a court-issued warrant for his arrest. The man was previously charged with selling alcohol to minors and contempt of court. Deputies approached the man in front of a home on Gail Drive and Grove Way. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $4,469 in bail.

Saturday, December 7: at 11:36 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 58-year-old man from Martinez on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The man was traveling on A Street and Knox Street in CV when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man was given a citation and instructions to appear in court.

 

 

Busted for Pot

Sunday, December 8: at 1:05 a.m., a 54-year-old man from CV was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana and paraphernalia. Deputies stopped the man outside of an apartment on the Boulevard and Independent School Road. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Saturday, December 7: at 1:09 a.m., deputies arrested a 20-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was standing outside a home on Leila Street near Grove Way when deputies stopped by. The man failed his filed sobriety test and was taken into custody.

Saturday, December 7: at 12:30 a.m., a 35-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession and brandishing an illegal switchblade in public. The man was walking along Grove Way near North 5th Street in Castro Valley when deputies approached him and disarmed him. The man was given a citation and instructions to appear in court.

 

 

Petty Theft

Friday, December 6: at 6:04 p.m., deputies arrested a 54-year-old man from CV on suspicion of petty theft. Security at a grocery store on Redwood Road near the Boulevard spotted the man leaving with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise and detained him. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him to Santa Rita Jail.

 

 

Can’t Stay Away

Friday, December 6: at 7:15 a.m., a 25-year-old woman with no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against her. Deputies were called to a motel on Foothill Boulevard near 173rd Avenue in CV to intervene. The woman was spotted outside of the motel and was taken into custody.

 

 

Burglar Caught

Wednesday, December 4: at 11:15 a.m., a 911 call about a suspicious person outside a business on the Boulevard near Lake Chabot Road sent deputies to the scene. There they arrested a 28-year-old man fitting the description on suspicion of burglary. The man also had a warrant out for his arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

 

Marijuana in Pocket

Tuesday, December 3: at 10:37 a.m., a 23-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. Deputies caught up with the man at a home on Apricot Court near Apricot Way. The drugs were discovered in his pockets during questioning. The man was taken into custody.

The man was previously charged on suspicion of evading arrest and violating the terms of his parole. Deputies spotted the man traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street when they stopped him and took him to Santa Rita Jail without bail.

Friday, November 29: at 6:28 p.m., a 19-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of breaking into a car in the parking lot of a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies were dispatched to the scene after a patron alerted store security of what was going on. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Saturday, November 30: at 3:21 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 22-year-old man from San Leandro on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was traveling on Anita Avenue near Somerset Avenue when deputies pulled him over. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

Thursday, November 28: at 2:57 p.m., a 48-year-old man from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering into private property and stealing items worth more than $950. Deputies were tipped off via silent alarm and discovered the man at a business on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Friday, November 29: at 2:13 a.m., deputies arrested a 27-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a court-ordered warrant for his arrest. The man was traveling on Regent Way near John Drive when deputies caught up with him and discovered he was driving with a suspended license. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $3,000 in bail.

Sexual Predator Goes Back to Jail

Wednesday, November 20: at 9:10 p.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old man from Castro Valley as part of a court-ordered warrant for his arrest. The man was previously charged on suspicion of felony sexual assault, failure to register as a sex offender and possession of narcotics for sale. The man was traveling on Lobert Street near Orange Avenue when deputies approached him. The man additionally gave a false identification to deputies at the scene. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $170,000 bail.

Tuesday, November 19: at 11:15 p.m., a 34-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. An emergency call about a fight on Wilbeam Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard sent deputies to an apartment nearby. The woman was identified and taken into custody. There they arrested a 63-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him into custody. The victim was treated at the home.

Sunday, November 17: at 12:05 a.m., a 26-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. Deputies stopped the man for questioning on Lake Chabot Road near Sydney Way when they discovered 0.70 grams of the drug in his pocket. The man was taken into custody.
