Traffic Stop Nets Drugs

Thursday, June 5: at 9:17 p.m., sheriff’s deputies pulled over and arrested two people from CV on driving and drug charges. The driver, a 34-year-old man, was traveling on Norbridge Avenue when deputies stopped him in front of a home on Juniper Street near Elm Street. The man was charged with suspicion of driving with a suspended license. The passenger, a 31-year-old woman, was charged with possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The couple was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Wanted Woman Wavers

Thursday, June 5: at 10:51 a.m., a 29-year-old woman from Oakdale, Calif. (Stanislaus County) was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The woman was additionally sought after as part of a warrant issued for her capture. Deputies identified the woman after stopping her at the intersection of Norbridge Avenue and the Boulevard. She failed her sobriety test and was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held pending $5,000 in bail.

Dangerous Dirt Bike

Wednesday, June 4: at 10:10 a.m., a 26-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving an off-highway motor vehicle on city streets. The man was also cited for carrying illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was puttering along Strobridge Avenue and Castro Valley Boulevard when he was stopped and taken into custody.

Thursday, June 5: at 11:54 p.m., deputies arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of possession of .22 grams of methamphetamine drugs, illegal drug paraphernalia, and violating the terms of his parole. The man was hanging outside a pharmacy on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies picked him up as part of a warrant issued for his capture. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

Domestic Abuse

Tuesday, June 3: at 12:55 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Anita Avenue. There they arrested a 25-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of spousal battery. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

Drugs and Drunk Driving

Sunday, June 1: at 10:47 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 47-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The man was traveling on Eastbound Interstate 580 when deputies pulled him over near Grove Way. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man

Sunday, June 1: at 3:41 p.m., a 31-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against him. The man was additionally sought after as part of a warrant issued for his capture. Deputies approached the man to serve the warrant at a home on Briar Ridge Drive near Cull Canyon. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Possession of Marijuana And Methamphetamine

Sunday, June 1: at 2:00 p.m., deputies arrested a 32-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of possession of marijuana and methamphetamine drugs. The man was traveling on Placer Drive near Saturn Drive when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Morning Drive While Under the Influence

Sunday, June 1: at 9:58 a.m., a 34-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of narcotic drugs. The man was traveling on Somerset Avenue near Rolando Avenue when deputies pulled him over and discovered his condition. The man was taken into custody. The car was towed.

 

Illegal Possession

Saturday, May 31: at 10:30 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 42-year-old man from Tracy, Calif. (San Joaquin County) on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs, methamphetamine drugs, and illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was traveling on Shady Springs Road near Grove Way when deputies stopped him. The man was taken into custody.

 

Drugs in Pocket

Saturday, May 31: at 4:45 p.m., a 32-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. Deputies caught up with the man on Star Avenue near Ada Street as part of a traffic stop. There they found the drugs in the man’s pocket. The man was taken into custody.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Saturday, May 31: at 12:25 a.m., an emergency call about a suspicious person in the neighborhood sent deputies to a home on Somerset Avenue near Stanton Avenue. There they arrested a 32-year-old man with no permanent address o suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against him. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Grand Theft Auto

Thursday, May 29: at 12:45 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 52-year-old man who gave no address on suspicion of stealing a car, breaking into a car, and possession of lock-picking equipment. The man was traveling on Vaughn Avenue near Nedra Way when deputies stopped him. The man was taken into custody. The car was impounded.

 

Driving High

Friday, May 30: at 1:12 a.m., a 20-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Deputies pulled the man over on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard after noticing him swerving in and out of traffic. The man was taken into custody.

 

Trouble Times Two

Thursday, May 29: at 9:09 p.m., deputies arrested two men from Castro Valley on Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street on various felony counts. A 42-year-old man was charged with violating a restraining order issued against him. His associate, a 40-year-old, was charged with possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Both men were taken into custody.

 

Wanted Woman

Wednesday, May 28: at 8:30 a.m., a 19-year-old woman from Oakdale, Calif. (Stanislaus County) was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The woman was additionally sought after for a warrant issued for her capture. Deputies served the warrant at a home on Walnut Road near Reamer Road. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $5,000 in bail.

 

Intoxicated in the Parking Lot

Wednesday, May 28: at 9:20 a.m., an emergency call about a man staggering around a grocery store parking lot on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard sent deputies to the scene. There they identified and arrested a 52-year-old man from San Francisco on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Domestic Disturbance

Monday, May 26: at 8:15 p.m., deputies were called to a parking lot on Castro Valley Boulevard near San Miguel Avenue to investigate a domestic disturbance. There they arrested a 31-year-old woman from Hayward on suspicion of assault on a family member. The woman was taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Joy Ride Ends in Multiple Arrests

Monday, May 26: at 9:57 p.m., three people were arrested on various felony counts stemming from a joy ride in a stolen auto. Deputies caught up with the men at the intersection of Santa Maria Avenue and Jamison Way. The driver, a 19-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. A 19-year-old man from Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of breaking into the vehicle. A 19-year-old man from Oakland was arrested as part of a warrant for his capture. The man had previously been charged with petty theft, breaking and entering, and brandishing a deadly weapon that included a laser pointer. Deputies identified the man and stopped him to serve the warrant  The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $65,000 in bail. The other two men were also taken into custody.

Morning Family Attack

Thursday, May 22: at 8:35 a.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Wisteria Street near Somerset Avenue. There they arrested a 29-year-old man who gave no address on suspicion of assault on a family member and preventing that person from calling for help on their cell phone. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Over the Limit

Friday, May 23: at 12:02 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 52-year-old man from Walnut Creek on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The man was traveling on Westbound Interstate 580 when deputies stopped him on the off ramp near East Castro Valley Boulevard. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Driving High and Loose

Friday, May 23: at 1:58 a.m., two men were arrested on driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Deputies pulled over a vehicle on East Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street for driving erratically in the neighborhood. The driver, a 26-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Modesto, was also arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Both men were taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Public Intoxication

Wednesday, May 21: at 8:04 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 40-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was traveling on the Boulevard near the 580 Market Place when deputies stopped him for questioning. The man was taken into custody.

 

Pot at Lunch Break

Tuesday, May 20: at 12:30 p.m., a 38-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. The man was traveling on the Boulevard near Baker Road when deputies caught up with him and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man

Wednesday, May 21: at 1:39 p.m., deputies arrested a 36-year-old man from CV as part of a warrant for his capture on a previous offense. The man was hanging out in a parking lot of a grocery store on Redwood Road near the Boulevard when deputies approached him to serve the warrant. The man was also in possession of an illegal amount of marijuana. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail where he was held without bail.

 

Stolen Property

Monday, May 19: at 1:59 p.m., a 44-year-old woman from CV was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property. Deputies were called to the Castro Valley Library on Norbridge Avenue following a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot. The woman was found with an unspecified amount of stolen goods. Deputies took the woman into custody.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Monday, May 19: at 1:50 p.m., an emergency call about a suspicious person in the neighborhood sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. There they arrested a 60-year-old man fitting the description of violating a court-issued restraining order against him. The man was taken into custody.

Sunday, May 18: at 8:39 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 52-year-old man from CV on suspicion of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. The man was traveling on A Street towards CV when deputies pulled him over for a traffic violation. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Saturday, May 17: at 10:19 a.m., a 27-year-old woman from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against her, vandalism of private property and resisting arrest. Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Trenton Drive near Bates Way following a call of a suspicious person in the neighborhood causing a scene. The woman fitting the description was identified and taken into custody.

Friday, May 16: at 11:32 p.m., deputies arrested a 29-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was traveling on Eden Canyon Road near Palo Verde Road when deputies pulled him over and discovered he smelled of alcohol. The man was taken into custody. The car was impounded.

Pot in the Parking Lot

Sunday, May 11: at 1:29 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested two men on drug-possession related charges. A 58-year-old man with no permanent address and a 22-year-old man from San Francisco were spotted doing drugs in the parking lot of a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies found the older man with illegal drug paraphernalia and the younger man with an illegal amount of marijuana drugs.  The men were taken into custody.

Friday, May 9: at 1:59 a.m., deputies arrested a 53-year-old man from San Francisco on suspicion of public intoxication. the man was traveling along Castro Valley Boulevard near Lake Chabot Road when deputies detained him for questioning and smelled alcohol on his breath. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Driving Trouble

Thursday, May 8: at 9:11 p.m., a 23-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving without a valid license. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street when deputies pulled her over and discovered her license was invalid. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Assault and Threats

Thursday, May 8: at 11:09 p.m., deputies arrested a 34-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member and making death threats. An emergency call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Castro Valley Boulevard and Aspen Avenue. There they confronted the man and took him into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Failed Storage Space Heist

Thursday, May 8: at 9:20 a.m., a 50-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery of a storage space at a business on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street. Deputies arrived on the scene following a silent alarm on the property. The man was taken into custody.

 

Shoplifter Nabbed

Thursday, May 8: at 3:01 p.m., deputies arrested a 33-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of shoplifting at a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Store security detained the man after they noticed him leaving with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was taken into custody.

 

Meth Bust

Thursday, May 8: at 10:25 p.m., a 23-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. The man was traveling on Stanton Avenue near Denning Court when deputies arrived and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

Wednesday, May 7: at 11:19 p.m., deputies arrested a 40-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and illegal drug paraphernalia. The man was hanging out at an apartment on Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street when deputies arrived and found his contraband. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Breaking and Entering

Wednesday, May 7: at 8:42 p.m., two men were arrested in connection with a vehicle break in on Stanton Avenue near Lake Chabot road. Deputies were called to the scene after neighbors called about two suspicious men in the area. A 48-year-old man with no permanent address was charged with violating the terms of his parole and breaking and entering. His accomplice, a 49-year-old man from Elk Grove (Sacramento County) was charged with breaking and entering. The two men were taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Wanted Man, Intoxicated

Wednesday, May 7: at 10:24 p.m., deputies arrested a 48-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk in public. The man was traveling on Independent School Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies caught up with him and smelled his breath. The man was also served a warrant for his arrest on a separate charge. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held pending $5,000.

Tuesday, May 6: at 1:53 p.m., a 43-year-old man who gave no address was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. Attack on Deputy

Lands Three in Jail

Saturday, May 3: at 10:50 p.m., three people from Castro Valley were arrested in connection to a near-deadly attack on a sheriff’s deputies. An emergency call about a fight at an apartment complex on Grove Way near Redwood Road sent deputies to the scene. There they found two men - aged 22 and 28 - fighting each other instead began beating up on one of the deputies. A 26-year-old female relative of one of the suspects was also arrested on suspicion of attacking a peace officer and resisting arrest. The two men were charged with attempted murder of a peace officer. All three were taken to Santa Rita Jail. The deputy was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries.

Sunday, May 4: at 3:28 p.m., a 54-year-old man who gave no address was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was outside a pharmacy on Castro Valley Boulevard near Yeandle Avenue when deputies caught up with the man and smelled alcohol on his breath. The man failed his sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Kidnapping

Sunday, May 4: at 6:07 p.m., deputies arrested a 33-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of kidnapping. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Wisteria Street when deputies pulled him over and realized the unnamed passenger was being held against their will. The man was taken into custody. the victim was taken into protective services.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Sunday, May 4: at 4:42 p.m., a 45-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against him. The man was spotted outside a home on Santa Maria Avenue near Lux Avenue after neighbors called 911. The man was taken into custody.

 

Death Threats

Sunday, May 4: at 8:47 p.m., deputies arrested a 37-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of making death threats against a family member. The man was at a home on Sabina Court near Camino Dolores when deputies arrived to serve a warrant for his arrest. When they got there, a person at the home put the man under citizen’s arrest. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held on $15,000 bail.

 

Drinking and Shouting

Saturday, May 3: at 9:15 p.m., a 911 call about a fight in public sent deputies to an apartment on Lake Chabot Road near Eden Hospital. There they discovered a 46-year-old man who gave no address screaming at the top of his lungs and intoxicated. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Driving On Drugs

Saturday, May 3: at 9:53 p.m., deputies arrested an 18-year-old woman from Union City on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and driving without a valid Driver’s License. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Stanton Avenue when deputies puller her over. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Attempted Robbery

Saturday, May 3: at 5:25 p.m., a 52-year old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole and attempted robbery of a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Store security detained the man after he tried to leave the store with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was taken into custody.

 

Pot Bust

Saturday, May 3: at 12:35 a.m., deputies arrested a 23-year-old man from San Leandro on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The man was traveling on Baker Road near Kerr Street when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Attempted Arson

Friday, May 2: at 10:30 a.m., an emergency call about a large volume of smoke sent deputies and fire crews to a property on Palomares Road near East Castro Valley Boulevard. There they arrested a 34-year-old man from Castro Valley on two counts of attempted arson. The man was handcuffed and taken in to custody. The fire was extinguished.

 

One Too Many

Saturday, May 3: at 12:52 a.m., a 62-year-old man from Sonora (Tuolumne County) was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was stumbling along Baker Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies arrived and questioned him. The man was taken to a sobering center.

 

Drugs in Pocket

Friday, May 2: at 4:27 a.m., deputies arrested a 31-year-old man from Dublin on suspicion of possession of 1.0 grams of marijuana drugs and 2.9 grams of methamphetamine drugs. The man was traveling on Fern Way near Omega Avenue when deputies stopped him for questioning and discovered the stash in his pocket. The man was taken into custody.

 

May Day Marijuana

Thursday, May 1: at 12:14 a.m., a 53-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. Deputies caught up with the man on Lake Chabot Road near Barlow Drive. When they discovered the drugs during questioning, the man was taken into custody.

Sunday, April 27: at 5:29 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 54-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs.  The man was also wanted as part of a warrant for his arrest. Deputies approached the man for questioning while he was traveling along Grove Way near Center Street. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Wanted Thief Arrested

Sunday, April 27: at 11:30 a.m., a 28-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of concentrated cannabis, and resisting arrest. The man had a warrant out for his capture and previous felony conviction of possession of stolen property. Deputies approached the man on the Boulevard near Redwood Road when they discovered his loot. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Meth Bust

Saturday, April 26: at 9:06 p.m., a 48-year-old man from CV was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. The man was hanging out in the parking lot of a grocery store on Redwood Road near the Boulevard when deputies approached the man and discovered 3.17 grams of the drug in his possession.

 

Domestic Violence

Thursday, April 24: at 7:44 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. There they arrested a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assault on a family member at the scene. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

Tuesday, April 22: at 6:11 p.m., deputies arrested a 44-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs. The man was walking along Castro Valley Boulevard near Strobridge Avenue when deputies caught up with him and found him with 1.5 grams of the drug in his pocket. The man was also found to be in violation of his probation. Deputies took the man into custody.

 

Trespassing

Tuesday, April 22: at 4:35 p.m., an emergency call about a suspicious person sent deputies to a home on Somerset Avenue near Wisteria Street. There they arrested a 28-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of trespassing. The woman was issued a citation and given instructions to appear in court.

 

Family Assault

Tuesday, April 22: at 9:01 a.m., deputies arrested a 35-year-old man from Oakley (Contra Costa County) on suspicion of assault on a family member and possession of concentrated cannabis.An emergency call about an argument at an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way sent deputies to the scene. The man was taken into custody, The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Hospital Dust Up

Tuesday, April 22: at 1:15 a.m., a 45-year-old man from San Leandro was arrested on suspicion of aggressive assault on a nurse at Eden Hospital on Lake Chabot Road. Deputies were called to the scene after hospital security detained the man following an altercation with a nurse. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The nurse was treated at the scene.

 

Invalid Driver’s License

Tuesday, April 22: at 12:46 a.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 21-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of driving with an invalid driver’s license. The man was traveling along Foothill Boulevard near Fairmont Drive when deputies stopped him for a traffic infringement. The man was given a citation and instructions to appear in court.

Sunday, April 20: at 9:29 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. There they arrested a 57-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of sexual assault and battery against a person living at the address. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Trampling Trees

Sunday, April 20: at 11:23 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 32-year-old woman from Richmond on suspicion of trespassing and destruction of business property at Eden Medical Center on Lake Chabot Road. Hospital security called for assistance after they spotted the woman disturbing newly-planted plants in the parking area. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Driving Drugged

Saturday, April 19: at 12:10 a.m., two men from Daly city were arrested for drug-related charges on Castro Valley Boulevard near Anita Avenue. Deputies pulled the men over for a traffic infraction. The 22-year-old driver was wanted as part of a warrant for his arrest for failure to pay his bail fines and suspected of driving under the influence of drugs. The 20-year-old passenger was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The men were taken to Santa Rita Jail. The vehicle was towed.

Store security detained the man after they noticed he left with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was also wanted on a separate charge. Friday, April 18: at 8:30 p.m., deputies arrested a 28-year-old man from San Leandro on suspicion of aggravated assault and robbery at a fast food restaurant on Grove Way near Center Street. The restaurant manager called for help after seeing the man fighting with someone in the parking lot area. The man was taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man Arrested

Friday, April 18: at 8:58 a.m., a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of public intoxication, and assault on a family member. The man was also wanted as part of a warrant for his arrest. Deputies approached the man for questioning while he was traveling along Redwood Road near Lessley Avenue. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Cousins Arrested for Drugs

Thursday, April 17: at 10:33 p.m., deputies arrested two women from Hayward on suspicion of possession of illegal amounts of marijuana and illegal drug paraphernalia. The women aged 31 and 32 respectively were hanging outside a pharmacy on the Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies stopped them for questioning and discovered their stash. The women were taken into custody.

Meth Bust

Monday, April 14: at 12:45 p.m., a 29-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and marijuana. Deputies spotted the man on the Boulevard and Wilbeam Avenue and found the man had a warrant out for his capture for a previous offense. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

No Fries with These Illegal Weapons

Monday, April 14: at 10:51 a.m., two men were arrested outside a fast food restaurant on Strobridge Avenue near Castro Valley Boulevard on various drug and weapons charges. A 19-year-old man from Castro Valley was found to have brass knuckles and a switchblade in his possession. Also arrested at the scene was a 49-year-old man from Hayward for possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Both men were taken into custody.

Thursday, April 10: at 1:40 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 41-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of shoplifting from a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies were called to the scene after store security caught the man leaving with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was taken into custody.

 

Public Intoxication

Thursday, April 10: at 12:14 p.m., a 44-year-old man who gave no address was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The man was hanging out in the parking lot of a motel on East Castro Valley Boulevard near the 580 Market Place shopping area when deputies arrived. Deputies noticed the strong smell of alcohol on the man. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Teen Caught Stealing

Thursday, April 10: at 2:47 p.m., deputies arrested a 18-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of stealing from  a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies responded to a call from store security and caught up with the teen in the parking lot area. The man was taken into custody when deputies found an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise in his pockets.

 

Joy Ride Comes to an End

Thursday, April 10: at 4:32 a.m., a 33-year-old man who gave no address was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft. The man was  also wanted as part of a court-issued warrant for her capture. Deputies spotted the man driving and pulled him over at the intersection of Redwood Road and Lessley Avenue. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Excessive Speeding

Tuesday, April 8: at 2:22 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 53-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of excessive speeding. The man was traveling at nearly double the speed on Castro Valley Boulevard near Center Street when deputies caught up with him. The man was taken into custody and the car impounded.

 

Pot at the Park and Ride

Tuesday, April 8: at 7:24 a.m., a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. Deputies spotted the man in the Park and Ride lot on Center Street and discovered his stash during questioning. The man was taken into custody.


Family Fight

Tuesday, April 8: at 11:30 p.m., a 911 call about a loud and aggressive-sounding argument sent deputies to a home on Garrison Avenue near Wilson Avenue. There they arrested a 59-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of assaulting a family member at the address. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

 

Stolen Car, Property, and Drugs

Monday, April 7: at 7:15 p.m., two people from San Francisco were arrested on various stolen property and drug charges. Deputies spotted the pair near a school site at the intersection of Lessley Avenue and Idena Avenue in Castro Valley before stopping them for questioning. A 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving a stolen car, possession of stolen property, and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. A 58-year-old man traveling with her was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and illegal drug paraphernalia. Both were taken to Santa Rita Jail.

Sunday, April 6: at 3:00 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested a 25-year-old woman from Hayward on suspicion of robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of illegal drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine drugs. The woman was also wanted as part of a court-issued warrant for her capture. Deputies spotted the woman traveling on East Castro Valley Boulevard near the 580 Market Place Shopping Center and pulled her over. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $100,000 bail.

 

Public Intoxication

Sunday, April 6: at 1:34 a.m., a 50-year-old man from San Lorenzo was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and resisting arrest. The man was traveling along Stanton Avenue near Somerset Avenue when deputies caught up with him and noticed alcohol on his breath. The man was taken into custody.

 

Too Much Alcohol

Friday, April 4: at 1:31 p.m., deputies arrested a 47-year-old man from San Lorenzo was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public. Deputies were called to Eden Medical Center on Lake Chabot Road after hospital security noticed the man swaggering around the halls. The man failed his field sobriety test and was taken to a sobering center.

 

Trailer Park Drugs

Thursday, April 3: at 10:05 p.m., a 22-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. Deputies were called to a Trailer Park on the Boulevard near Marshall Street following an anonymous tip. The man was taken into custody.

 

Drug Kit

Thursday, April 3: at 2:08 a.m., deputies arrested a 31-year-old woman from San Leandro on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. The woman was hanging outside a home on John Drive near Bramble Court when deputies stopped her for questioning and discovered her stash. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Under Citizen’s Arrest

Wednesday, April 2: at 2:15 p.m., a 41-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property. The man was put under citizen’s arrest after he tried to leave a grocery store on Redwood Road near the Boulevard with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held for a court appearance.

 

Wanted for Alcohol-Fueled Vehicular Manslaughter

Wednesday, April 2: at 11:03 a.m., deputies arrested a 32-year-old woman from CV as part of a warrant for her arrest following charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. The woman was spotted outside a grocery store on Somerset Avenue near Parsons Avenue when deputies approached her and handcuffed her. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $50,000 in bail.

 

Three Arrests for Car Break In

Wednesday, April 2: at 2:30 p.m., three women were arrested on suspicion of breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Deputies were called to the scene following an anonymous tip. Arrested for the break ins was an 18-year-old woman from Oakland. A second 18-year-old woman from Hayward was additionally held for providing deputies with a false ID and a warrant out for her capture related to a previous vandalism charge. A 30-year-old woman from Fresno was also arrested for the break ins and additionally charged with driving with an invalid license. The women were taken to Santa Rita Jail pending bail.

 

Can’t Stay Away

Tuesday, April 1: at 8:30 p.m., deputies arrested a 52-year-old woman from Hayward on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against her. The woman was spotted outside a home on Somerset Avenue near Stanton Avenue following an anonymous tip about a suspicious person in the neighborhood. The woman was taken into custody.

 

No Fooling, He’s Going Back To Jail

Tuesday, April 1: at 12:00 p.m., a 44-year-old man who gave no address was arrested on suspicion of two counts of violating the terms of his parole and vandalism. The man was traveling along Lobert Street near Orange Avenue in Castro Valley when deputies approached him. At first the man thought it was a joke since it was April Fool’s Day. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Shoplifting with a Rap Sheet

Tuesday, April 1: at 12:20 p.m., deputies arrested a 42-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of possession of stolen property, giving deputies a false ID, violating the terms of his parole, and contempt of court. The man was caught leaving a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. Deputies matched the man’s information with his previous arrest records and returned him to custody.

 

Woman Who Screams at Cars

Tuesday, April 1: at 1:20 p.m., a 52-year-old woman from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of screaming obscenities at cars and passersby outside a commercial storage business on Redwood Road near the Interstate 580 off-ramp. Deputies arrived on the scene to find the woman on the corner screaming at people passing by while a store manager put her under citizen’s arrest. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Can’t Stay Away Either

Tuesday, April 1: at 10:08 p.m., a 911 call about a suspicious person in the neighborhood sent deputies to an apartment on Center Street near Grove Way. There they arrested a 60-year-old man from Castro Valley on suspicion of violating a court-issued restraining order against him. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held on $20,000 bail.

 

Big Switchblade

Monday, March 31: at 9:15 p.m., deputies arrested a 32-year-old man from Newark on suspicion of carrying a switchblade knife with a blade longer than two inches and possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The man was standing outside a drug store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Marshall Street when deputies approached him and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Breaking and Entering

Monday, March 31: at 8:50 p.m., a 25-year-old woman from Fremont was arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering, possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs, and assault on a family member. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Norbridge Avenue when deputies arrived. The woman was handcuffed and taken into custody. The victim was treated at the scene.

The man was hanging out in front of a convenience store on Grove Way near Center Street when deputies approached him and smelled liquor on his breath. The man was taken into custody.

Friday, March 28: at 7:25 a.m., a 53-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of breaking into a vehicle and public intoxication. Deputies were called to a parking lot on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard after witnesses spotted the man banging on cars. The man was handcuffed and taken into custody.

 

Wanted Man

Friday, March 28: at 9:13 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 26-year-old man from Modesto (Stanislaus County) on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was driving on Baker Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies pulled him over for an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a separate charge. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $2,500 bail.

 

Over the Limit

Friday, March 28: at 4:30 p.m., a 66-year-old man from CV was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. Deputies spotted the man traveling along Grove Way near Morales Court. When they stopped him for questioning, they noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath. The man failed his sobriety test and was taken into custody.

 

Drug Arrests

Friday, March 28: at 12:43 p.m., Three people were arrested on various drug charges outside an apartment complex on Grove Way near Redwood Road. Deputies approached the trio following an anonymous tip about suspicious activities at the site. A 53-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman from CV were charged with possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. A 57-year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine drugs and illegal drug paraphernalia. All three were transported to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Illegal Smoking Pipe

Friday, March 28: at 1:31 a.m., deputies arrested a 34-year-old man from Oakland on suspicion of possession of an illegal drug smoking pipe. The man was traveling along Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard when deputies caught up with him and discovered his stash. The man was taken into custody.

 

Forgot to Register

Thursday, March 27: at 5:00 p.m., a 54-year-old man with no permanent address was arrested on suspicion of violating the terms of his probation, and failing to register as a transient following release from jail. Deputies found the man living in a makeshift space behind businesses on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road. The man was taken back to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Parole Check Finds Outstanding Warrants

Wednesday, March 26: at 9:15 p.m., deputies arrested two people from Castro Valley as part of an outstanding warrant for their arrest at an apartment on Redwood Court near Redwood Road. A 27-year-old man at the scene was charged with violating the terms of his parole. A 23-year-old woman also at the scene was similarly charged with violating the terms of her parole and possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The couple were taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Grocery Store Robber Caught

Wednesday, March 26: at 11:42 a.m., a 23-year-old woman from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of robbery at a grocery store on Castro Valley Boulevard near Five Canyons Parkway. Deputies picked the woman up after store security observed her walking out of the store with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The woman was also charged with violating the terms of her parole. She was taken to Santa Rita Jail.

 

Breaking and Entering

Tuesday, March 25: at 2:45 p.m., deputies arrested a 30-year-old man with no known address on suspicion of breaking and entering. The man was detained outside a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard after shoppers reported to managers of the man’s suspicious activity. The man was taken into custody.

 

Stolen Property

Tuesday, March 25: at 4:30 p.m., a 54--year-old man from Hayward was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property with intent to sell it. The man was found at a home on Gary Drive near Strobridge Avenue following an anonymous tip. Deputies handcuffed the man and took him to Santa Rita Jail.

Tuesday, March 25: at 8:51 a.m., deputies arrested a 25-year-old woman from Castro Valley on suspicion of disturbing the peace. The woman was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near San Miguel Avenue when a passerby offended by the woman’s loud and unruly behavior placed her under citizen’s arrest until deputies arrived. The woman was taken into custody.

 

Traffic Stop Ends in Arrest

Tuesday, March 25: at 6:45 p.m., a 25-year-old man from Oakland was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended driver’s license. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Wilbeam Avenue when deputies caught up with him. The passenger, a 26-year-old man from Hayward was also charged with possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs. The men were taken into custody.

Wednesday, March 26: at 5:18 a.m., deputies arrested a 37-year-old man from Hayward on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs, driving with a suspended license, and possession of an illegal amount of marijuana drugs.The man was traveling on Grove Way near Betlen Way when deputies pulled him over for driving with an obscured license plate. The man was taken into custody.

 

Shoplifter Caught

Tuesday, March 25: at 5:45 p.m., a 43-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at a grocery store on Redwood Road near Castro Valley Boulevard. Store security detained the man after he left the store with an unspecified amount of unpaid merchandise. The man was taken into custody.

 

Kid’s Truant, But Mom Goes to Jail

Tuesday, March 25: at 3:30 a.m., deputies arrested a 38-year-old woman from Castro Valley as part of an outstanding warrant for her capture. The woman was previously charged with multiple counts of truancy for her child. Deputies spotted the woman walking at the intersection of Redwood Road and Grove Way when they decided to serve the warrant. The woman was taken to Santa Rita Jail pending $10,000 in bail.

The man was traveling on Lake Chabot Road near Arcadian Drive when deputies caught up with him. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Deputies took the man to Santa Rita Jail where he was held without bail.

Sunday, March 23: at 10:21 a.m., a 41-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of driving with borrowed license plates and driving with a suspended license. The man also had a warrant out for his arrest on a separate charge. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Rutledge Road when deputies ran his plates and pulled him over. The man was taken to Santa Rita Jail and held without bail.

 

Invalid Driver’s License

Saturday, March 22: at 4:49 p.m., deputies arrested a 23-year-old man from Brentwood (Contra Costa County) on suspicion of driving without a valid driver’s license. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Stanton Avenue when deputies spotted him and pulled him over. The man was taken into custody.

Store security reported watching the woman walk out with an unspecified amount of unpaid goods. Deputies took the woman into custody.

Tuesday, March 18: at 1:36 p.m., deputies pulled over and arrested a 38-year-old man from Dublin on suspicion of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance. The man was traveling on John Drive near Foothill Blvd when deputies spotted him and pulled him over. The man also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest. He was given a citation and instructions to appear in court.

 

Domestic Dispute

Monday, March 17: at 11:38 a.m., a 25-year-old man from Castro Valley was arrested on suspicion of assault on a family member and child endangerment. Deputies responded to a domestic dispute call at a home on Stanton Avenue near Denning Court and found the man. The man was taken into custody.

 

Loaded Deadly Weapon

Tuesday, March 18: at 2:27 a.m., a 42-year-old man from Newark was arrested on suspicion of threatening with a deadly weapon, concealing a weapon and carrying a loaded weapon in a public place. The man was traveling on Castro Valley Boulevard near Redwood Road when deputies caught up with him and found his weapon. The man was taken into custody.
