Saturday, April 6: Hike to Historic Honcharenko Site

The Hayward Area Historical Society invites you to hike to the historic farm and burial place of the Ukrainian patriot-priest who came to Hayward in 1873. Sunday, April 7: Moose Lodge Benefit Spaghetti Feed

The Buon Tempo Italian American Club will host a Spaghetti & Meatball Feed from 5 to 7 p.m. this Sunday at the Castro Valley Moose Lodge, 20835 Rutledge Road, Castro Valley for $15 per person. Saturday, April 13: Sports Foundation Crab Feed

The Castro Valley Sports Foundation will hold a Crab Feed at the San Leandro Boys and Girls Club on April 13. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. Fresh crab dinner with pasta, salad, coffee and no-host bar. Music, silent auction and dancing after dinner. “Peter Pan,” will be presented by the Castro Valley High School’s Drama and Music Departments, at 7 p.m. on May 3, 4, 10, 11, and at 2 p.m. on May 5 and 12. After trying for five year, CVHS has finally secured the rights to this show, which will dazzle audiences with its acting, music and technical effects (flying actors). Call for Art: Sun Gallery in Hayward is soliciting submissions from artists for an exhibition titled “World View: Landscape in Contemporary Art,” exploring as broad an interpretation of landscape as possible, which will run from April 24 to June 1. Artwork will be juried for entry digitally or by photo at no cost to the artist and can be any media including painting, sculpture, glass-work, ceramics, drawing, assemblage, multimedia pieces, photography, digital collages and short films. The deadline for consideration of work for the gallery’s postcards and press release is this Friday, April 5. The final deadline for consideration of work in the show is Monday, April 15.
