Projects planned for 2011 will add a lane to I-880, build new freeway overpasses at Davis Street and Marina Boulevard, and widen Davis Street itself. |
Wooden Bats Rule in Old School League
The crack of the bat announced that real baseball was in progress down at San Leandro Ballpark last Sunday afternoon.
This is the real thing. They play with Louisville Sluggers, wooden bats, when the San Leandro Old Timers of the Nor Cal Roy Hobbs League take the field. The league is made up of players 35 and over who don’t settle for the cheap ping of a metal bat making contact. In this league, it’s nothing but the sound of Northern white ash against horsehide. |
